If in the area, Central Ave is worth driving down, as there are quite a few old "Route 66" places that are still present. From where we were staying in our RV (American RV Park), it was a straight shot down Central to Albuquerque Old...More

So if you want to see the full range of Albuquerque, from, oh, trashy and abandoned to preppy and cool, to modest and almost semi-sort-of-"charming" (to stretch, no, I can't honestly commit to "charming" but I'm trying to be nice), drive the full length of...More

After few months of absence from visiting Central Avenue, we decided to take a walk in the so-called nice parts of Central, to feel the spirit of the holidays and reconnect with a long lost part of the city. To our dismay, we discovered a...More

Murals are everywhere. The city is thriving on art. You are likely to find dozens of art galleries, coffee shops, as well as boutique restaurants serving high-quality, gourmet food.

I guess it depends on what section of Central you go to, but we enjoyed the area around Nob Hill and a mile or so near the Kimo Theater. Good for some Route 66 sites, and a number of spots for shopping and food. These...More

If you have ANY other way to get where you are going, Central is not a good choice right now. The street is being torn apart for bus lane and other purposes and is a mess. Add on significant time to reach anything by way...More

Central Avenue is the near-25 kilometer long east-west street that is Alburquerque's main commercial district. It contains fast food joints and restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets, movie theaters, adult sex shops, barbers, massage parlours, banks, pawn shops, tattoo and piercing parlours, tobacco shops, service stations, car...More

A different type of people watching. At times over crowded. At times dead. Too many people trying to be cool. Over aged men shaving the sides of their heads to be young again. Women trying to hard to be unique. Interesting in smal doses.
