I found "The Crater", the most interesting part of the park. This park is very large and should be toured in you car.

We are big Civil war buffs and some ot the driving trails we have been on over the years are very confusing and lacking. This one is over 30 miles and very concise. Did not get confused once! The history and the suffering here is...More

Very worth the drive! You could spend a lot of time here touring around or even excel owing by running the trails through all the battlefields. Lots of history to be seen, and you don't need to be unused by 5. The park is open...More

We took the driving tour where we followed a park ranger who knew her stuff and wanted to share her knowledge at every stop. It is worth the trip to hear the history of the Crater. A lesson we should all learn.

Good place to learn about the last battles of the civil war. Must stop in visitor center first to watch movie. There is a nice walking path along Dimmock Line.
