If you like boardwalks and quaint shops and restaurants like New Jersey or Delaware, do not go. If you like rustic and pristine, this is the beach for you. Be prepared to park on the beach in some areas. We do not fish, but there is plenty of opportunity to do so.

It's a lovely beach than most in Texas. There's a lot to explore in terms of natural habitat such as bird watching and observing turtles during their season.

It was very windy which I would think was probably normal. Lots of beach to walk endlessly on. We went over to the windsurfing beach, also that was cool watching the windsurfers race by. The ocean side is not a good beach to swim. Maybe wade .

An easy find on Park Rd 22, this is a pristine area of beach suitable for long walks, shell finding treasures, camping, swimming, and wave watching. I even saw dolphins playing and jumping at the outer waves! The main area where everyone goes is a beach you drive on, with the northbound traffic having the right of way. Go further... More

A must see beach. It is beautiful and clean. Plan on going back again and spending more time on it. If you a bird watcher there are lots of them.

Worth the drive !!! Yes you have to pay but it's a National park so if you're a member you don't ! You can drive on the beach and drive far if you have a 4 wheel drive. Great swimming, fishing & sunning !!! You can't beat the views !!!

This is truly a national treasure. Love this place. I will be back! Just drive up to the ocean and park. I woke up to sea birds chirping, and I swear I saw a dolphin in the distance. Beach patrol was there intermitantly all night. I felt really safe. I just put the seat back and rolled down the windows.

Costs $10 per car to get into park. The station is clean with plenty of paved parking spaces. The restrooms and changing rooms are reasonably clean. The beach is a little more natural with more small seashells and jellyfish on it. There are a few trash cans and picnic tables to use. Easy to get into and out of.
