The most difficult hike I've done in Utah. Pretty scenery and the lake is beautiful but the trail really makes you work for it. Make sure to bring your perseverance. Took me about 2.5 hours up.

This trail is steep, but short (3 miles one way). The views of the lake and Sundial Peak at the top are well worth the effort. Plus, the trail itself is beautiful. The fall color can be breathtaking in late summer and early fall.

The hike to Lake Blanche is on a full incline most of the way. I exercise 4 times a week, and this was difficult for me, coupled with the thin mountain air. The views are amazing as you make the ascent. It does take a...More

We spent a week in Park City and explored numerous trails. We aren't avid hikers but are pretty fit so we thought we'd try this trail. It is not for beginning and although we are in pretty good shape it was challenging. I am extremely...More

It is my favorite hike in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is simply beautiful. It is easy accessible from SLC.

Lake Blanche is a great spot. The trail is a steady climb all the way to the lake, but never really gets super steep. You just never really get a break - you gain 2700 ft in elevation so keep that in mind. Make sure...More

My husband loves to run this trail while training for Spartan races... or just because :) I find it challenging... it takes me 2 hours to the top at a steady pace with a few rest breaks. I usually like to stay at the top...More

I’ll have to say even after reading reviews, I still underestimated this hike. It was by far the longest and hardest one we have done. The views are gorgeous as you continue to climb all the way to the top to the lake. It is...More

Whether skiing, hiking, running or just driving, this Canyon is breathtaking in any season! We just hiked to Lake Blanche this week and it was the perfect hike. Almost 7 miles round trip from the Mill B South parking lot on the "S" curve; the...More

This is a great hike. It is on the longer side and mostly up hill. I wouldn't do it as a first hike but if you've done a few this is a must do hike.

The end of March will probably be pretty muddy. There is still quite a bit of snow up there. The runoff should start soon and cause even more mud. The best time is in the summer or in the fall.

Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon - approximately 7200 S./Ft. Union Blvd until you reach the S curve. Parking on the right. Might be labeled Mill B South.
