This is a great hike. It is on the longer side and mostly up hill. I wouldn't do it as a first hike but if you've done a few this is a must do hike.

I wanted to make a hiking afternoon in the Big Cottonwood Canyon. I chose this trail because it was the favorite spot of my Air BnB host, and I was not disappointed at all. The landscape from the bottom and from the top are not...More

We found this trek to be a little demanding. It took us almost 2.15 hrs to go up! The trail was steep all the way up, was covered in snow and we were not wearing waterproof hiking shoes and so it was sometimes slippery to...More

This is a great workout, but also a beautiful hike. We hiked this July 24. It is a very popular trail, so we started at the trailhead at 7am, which was fortunate since we were on the way down when it started to get hot....More

This hike will kick your glutes into action! The payoff is sure worth it though, Sundial Peak and Lake Blanche are a sight to behold. Pack a lunch and enjoy it at the top for a break on the rocks and head back down!

Beautiful scenery especially in the fall. The later in the year though you will have less water in the lake, but still nice. If you have energy left you can hike Sundial Peak in the picture.

We started from the trail near the bottom of Big Cottonwood. It is a very trying trail for beginners, or at least for myself still adjusting to the altitude. Some spots are blocked from the wind so it was hot but the top was so...More

The end of March will probably be pretty muddy. There is still quite a bit of snow up there. The runoff should start soon and cause even more mud. The best time is in the summer or in the fall.

Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon - approximately 7200 S./Ft. Union Blvd until you reach the S curve. Parking on the right. Might be labeled Mill B South.
