Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Probably was a thriving scene pre-covid. Yes there are alot of empty storefronts but restaurants are starting to pop up. We ate at the Hall, which has about 4 restaurants under one roof plus a bar. The healthy choice had good food. We also ate dinner at Italian Graffiti and really tasty Italian food
Nice outdoor dining tables and good play areas for kids.

We went for lunch, not much as far as shopping. The few stores there were not open on Sunday. A very nice play area and water park for the kids. Lots of unused space, two stories. It seems like this is the forgotten shopping mall. Dave and Busters was the main attraction.

This is mostly outside, so when it's 98 degrees out (like in August) it's too hot for most of it. A lot of shops were closed our not open yet but the place has a lot of potential. If we'd been traveling with the kids we'd have gone to the Children's Museum there for sure. The splash pad looked like fun but there's very little shade. Coffee place we tried was slow and snooty.

I went to see a 3-hour movie (No Time to Die) recently. The theater validates your parking for 4 hrs, according to the ticket they give you. I arrived early and decided to grab a snack afterward. Total time in the garage 4.5 hrs. When I left, the garage tried to charge me $4 for the extra half hour. I was expecting I might have to pay an extra dollar or two, as their posted rates indicate something like $1-2/hr. But $4?? Ridiculous. I thought it might me a mistake but the attendant on the intercom attempted to shout me down when I tried to explain the situation. If parking is this problematic for everyone, I can see why the place is struggling. I'll be going to the movies elsewhere from now on.

Nice outdoor sitting area! Spacious but not too many people around. Shops are limited and there is Barnes and noble store nearby with Starbucks. Movie theater located on the top. Great place for kids though.

The Gateway Mall is a great place to go for various stores, restaurants, The Planetarium, and a megaplex movie theater. It has great play areas for the kids and adult seating areas for relaxing and conversations with friends. The Gateway is found along the Blue Line at The Planetarium station.

I was here 5 years ago when there were quite a few more shops in the Gateway. Most of those have closed and there all sorts of "art spaces" to cover up the loss. Fewer places to shop for sure, it seems the restaurants have fared a little better. Overall, probably a sign of tighter economic times.

We sought this outdoor mall area out due to its past reputation, but found it disappointing. There are a few stores and a few restaurants left, but vast areas of empty storefronts. It seems to be transitioning from a destination to more of a support area for the nearby apartments. The old train station is shuttered, with lots of homeless hanging around outside. At the more modern part of the complex we found more security guards than patrons the evening we stopped by.

I loved the mall at night. The fire pits were very inviting since it was a cold and almost snowy night. As another has stated that the lights are beautiful and add to the area. I enjoyed the Barnes & Noble and Sur la Table stores. I hope the owners get more tenants as it does have so much potential.

Sadly, this once great place to shop, see a movie and get dinner has declined so far I'm not sure they can recover. Escalators have been out of order for at least two years... don't believe signs saying they are fixing them, they never get fixed.
Homeless population is is out of control across the street that you don't feel safe exiting the parking lot and waiting for the light to change to get moving.
