Went not knowing what would be the outcome. Inside I find history of my grandparents and photographs of them that I had not seen before. Loved my time here. Hope to return.

We came down to SLC to do some genealogical research and visited the Library three times. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I think they were all volunteers and the depth and breadth of their expertise varied from person to person. We're not LDS, but that didn't appear to make any difference - no proselytizing or discussions about the... More

Wow our first trip the Family History Library only made us realize just how easily you can lose track of time! We not only lost track of time as we went in and didn't come out for hours! But we lost track of history as we traveled back in time and history with every book and record we found. There's... More

Just the place to track down your family history. Find out if where you think your ancestors came from is true. We learned a few things. Great staff to help you get started, assist you with foreign languages. Then you can go home and continue to search and build your family tree.

One of the most awesome places in the world to do genealogy research and study family history. it's the Holy Grail. There is an unbelievable amount of resources from all over the world from books, microfilms, microfiche, maps and on and on. many things are digitized. Don't worry if you plan to visit and don't have much knowledge on how... More

We had a short time in Salt Lake City but we made sure to visit Temple Square and the Family History Center. There are many volunteers ready to help you create an account and begin a search for ancestors. I was able to trace my father's family back to England in the 1500s. The volunteer that was working with us... More

The perfect place to visit if you have been caught up in the world wide enthusiasm over your roots. If you are a pro, the perfectly friendly staff at the LDS family history library will point you in the correct direction. If you are a newby these wonderful people will walk you through the steps one by one. It is... More

I've written 5 genealogy books and it wouldn't have been possible without the resources from the Family History Library. The staff is knowledgeable and having online resources is also nice.

After a sunset stroll through the Temple gardens, stumbled upon the Family History Library and remembered friends who said they had spent 4 hours there! Curious, I decided to see if what I thought I knew about my ancestors was true. The volunteers there are very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I'm sure that what I discovered would have taken days...
