Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Your "Memory Lane Scanning Center" has been outstanding for all my needs to preserve photos, old snail-mail letters, and documents. I have been coming to the center for three years and have been able to preserve thousands of records which I save on an external hard drive and then up into my Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage. The setup of equipment with a computer connected to both a batch scanner and to a flatbed scanner has been the perfect combination to swing back and forth with various records in a seamless manner as I am able to preserve all of my records without having to hop back and forth between two computers because I needed to suddenly use the flatbed scanner and vice versa. I have also greatly appreciated being able to come to the center and use the equipment without having to make a reservation. For the three years I have come to the Library I have rarely seen all of the the scanning equipment being used at the same time. I hope the Library will NOT start a reservation system to accessing their scanning/digitizing equipment.

We were told about this by a friend who is Mormon. We have always been curious about our family tree. We knew we had some Native American heritage, but wasn't sure which tribe etc. The staff is very helpful. You do need to know some basic information about some of your relatives. When you plug-in the information the tree builds itself. It was amazing to see how far back it goes and find out who you are related too. The technology is new and very easy to use. I know the library is funded by the Mormon church. We were worried they might try to convert us, but they never pushed their beliefs. They even printed out a family pie chart for us to take home and the cool part is you can continue when you get home once you create a login, so anything you find there you can have forever. If you are curious about your family history this is definitely worth a stop. The only thing I would say is to find parking in lot nearby since there is a lot of construction going on right now. We parked about a block away and paid $5 to park which was good all day.

The library is excellent. Lots and lots of volunteer helpers to set you on your path.

There are really interesting hands on touchscreen computers that will give you origins and show you any famous people you may be related to, that was fun. If you are ready to really research the library has seemingly unlimited information.

To get the most out of your trip you should gather some family information on parents, grandparents and beyond if possible. Dates of birth and death along with locations will help as well. It is possible to create a free account for your search from home, that will also maximize your time in the library. If you can’t they will help you with everything to set up your account.

If we had the time (30-40 minutes) we would’ve started my family tree and used their resources. We were warmly greeted at the door and asked about what we wanted to accomplish at the library. With help logging in to our own iPad we were given the chance to walk around the main floor and explore our family name and birth year facts. Quick but pleasant experience. We want to go back!

Staffed by helpful volunteers, this free facility allows you to do computerized genealogical research. It is definitely worth a visit, if you want to know more about your ancestors and family history. What you find will be interesting, perhaps surprising and an emotional experience. Operated by the LDS church. Highly recommend!

Didn't find anything that I couldn't find online at home. I was there for 4 hours. Nice staff. They have a large selection of books (history) about cities where your family grew up. Microfilm is on computer screen
You can scroll to find information you're looking for. No index or way to search.

After using FamilySearch records on microfilm and online for 25 years it was great to see the "mother ship." The welcome desk offered us a private tour of the whole facility, which was fun.

Most of the information is now online, but there are still some records available only here if one has time to do some research while there.

I did not know what to expect before I came-I knew that they would help me be able to find out more of my family history that I did not know, but my expectations were far exceeded. The staff here is so helpful. They guide you through the whole process. You have to create a free account online, then from there you start your research. The volunteer with me probably spent about an hour or more just helping me. She was able to help me along the way and help me unravel my family history. At the end, I had the option to print out a family tree fan that went back nine generations. I was able to take it back home with me and use ancestory.com to help fill in the gaps that family search missed. I would highly recommend this place-I am so grateful that my family and I visited here.

I've been doing genealogy for 50 years, and had questions about a missing person in my husband's line. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I didn't find the person, but got explanations about what could have happened, and resources where I might find them.
If you have a family search account, they will print you a free 9-generation poster of your family tree!!
Snack room available, with the most reasonable prices I've ever seen in vending machines. Quality sandwiches and frozen meals available as well.

Heard positive things and wanted to see if they had any info on my family that I had not already found. Elder Wiseman on the 1st floor was very helpful. We started on the 3rd floor but no volunteers available, so went to 2nd. After a bit, finally found one although we needed two. Eventually found another. Expected it to be quiet like most libraries but it was not. If I'd been working independently, would have worn head or earphones. Anyway, my friend was successful. I did not learn anything new. Happy for her, but disappointed for me. Probably good idea to visit during the week when it's less busy.
