We had the pleasure of doing the Joshua's Wish 5K at Amerson. We had heard of the park-but had never visited. What a beautiful place!! Nice trails, picnic areas. Lovely place to spend a day with family and/or Fido!
This old water treatment plant site has finally come into its own as a destination. The walking trails have nice, wide paved surfaces that are easy to travel on even with traffic. There are picnic pavilions, grills, and benches along the walkways that are nicely...More
Really beautiful park. Huge, well-laid out and maintained. Plenty of walking trails (we plan to hike them next time!) and wide-open spaces. Access to the river. We were glad we went out of our way to check it out.
We stopped by here while we were in town after our hotel staff recommended it. It is a beautiful place and great for kids, pets, or anyone looking to get some outdoor exercise. They have several paved walking and biking paths right along the river....More
We live here in Macon. We love walking here but remember that you are in Macon ga . There have multiple cars broken into. Shootings happen every other day. Keep your head on a swivel and if you are a women don't walk alone.

The inter-weaving walking/riding trails are inviting to individuals, couples, friends, families, and friendly pets....More

My suspicion is that although fishing in the pond may be legal, I feel like it may be frowned upon by the many people engaged in park activities. There are usually employees present at a maintenance facility near the playground/ restroom area that can possibly clarify this uncertainty.
