Small museum ina very large facility. Quirky exhibits when we were there, enjoyed the artworks very much - but they rotate exhibits like most museums do, of course, so what you see when you visit might be different from the artists we saw when we...More

The museum has a wonderful exhibit of Georgia artists. Good exhibit on Harriet Tubman and a good video of Otis Redding. It even has hidden surprises such as Little Richard's piano! Support this museum!

We enjoyed learning about Harriet Tubman and other historical locals from Macon, GA. While we were there we also enjoyed a wonderful display on Otis Redding. They even had Little Richard's piano! The local artist gallery was amazing.

On our visit we were disappointed that there wasn't more info on the amazing namesake of this museum, and at the small amount of African-American Art displayed. Great building, so-so museum.

This big beautiful building and all the AFRICAN AMERICAN history available, the space was ill used and the sheer lack of artifacts and memorabilia was staggering. Harriet Tubman was cornered and tucked away. The admissions desk staff was inadequately dressed and was covering with a...More

The staff are what made this museum so special. This museum features modern art and technical inventions by African Americans. It is not particularly historical although there was a shocking photo exhibit of the "chain gang" era on display when I was there. The cloth...More
