Rose Hill is a beautiful, historic cemetery. Many famous Georgians are buried here and it is fasinating to walk around. Narrated Rambles are held the Sunday before Halloween and the Sunday after Easter and are a great ways to learn about the people buried in Rose Hill.

Went to see Duane Allman grave, it's quite difficult to find. We had to ask directions from a local who was walking through the cemetry. Wear flat comfy shoes too as it is hilly and slippy in places.

This is a very old and historic cemetery. Rolling through the hills of Macon and along the railroad track, the majestic monuments and grave stones add to the ambiance of this cemetery. Well worth the visit. Also if your into the paranormal, you just might get something on your camera.

We visited Rose Hill Cemetery as part of our private Rock Candy Tour. I had no idea as to the size and scale of this cemetery. A lot of history to see over rolling hills and winding paths. Jamie, our Rock Candy Tour guide, was able to show us some of the areas that relevant to the Allman Brothers Band.

Rose Hill is a beautiful place for an afternoon stroll with history, as well as scenic views. One can ride in a car, but some of the streets are very narrow and difficult to maneuver in larger cars. The statuary in the cemetery is beautiful as well.

This is a fantastic cemetery if you're into old cemetaries! I would advise having a small car to navigate the drive. There are knee high walls periodically throughout. It's a cool place to check out though.

We visited the grave of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley on our way to the Allman Brothers Museum. Wish we would have had more time to explore the cemetary. We've seen this cemetary from the interstate for years, but have never stopped here.

Of course, being as we are old rock fans, we went to see Berry and Duane's graves. Aside from that, Rose Hill is most definitely a wonderful place to visit. Macon history abounds. The cemetery sits on a hillside so all the family plots lie on terraces. That alone makes it an interesting view. It dates from 1840 so many,... More
