This was our favorite stop in Macon. It seems to go on forever and is the final resting place for many famous and influential people. It's a definite must stop on your next visit.

Found the cemetery easily. No attendants available but they did have a map where you could easily locate sites of interest. We easily found the location of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. What a peaceful resting place. Wish we had had more time to stroll...More

Duane Allman is buried here. The walking tour is easy and fun with the free map. The terraces are very pretty and the highway noise is muted. Since a section of this rural cemetery is built along the Ocmulgee River, there are many visitors on...More

It is impossible to describe the southern sweetness of this historic landmark that stretches across the banks of the Ocmulgee River on the Northwest corner of downtown. The ghosts whisper of hot southern nights in July gone by. If you are a fan of The...More

At the risk of sounding morbid, this is one of the most beautiful cemeteries I have ever seen. It is hilly and historic, be prepared to walk up and down. It is alongside a river and railroad tracks, but it was a place that the...More

As a Allman Brothers fan this was a must see while passing thru Macon. Research and it is easy to find. As others have mentioned roads are narrow but Rose Hill is easy to find. Must see for any fans in the area.

This cemetery is fun to explore, and if you are an Allman Brothers band fan, there are lots of things to search for with ties to their music.

Love this classic old cemetery. The Allman Brothers band members are buried there so it is truly a special place for all of their fans.
