Like Saipan, Tinian has its suicide cliff. Quiet, with no one around. After the Battle of Tinian, my father was stationed near here to defend the Island for the remainder of the war. He would watch the B-52's take off from the airstrip.

At the extreme south-east part of Tinian, the area is home to ocean, cliffs, and shrines to those who died here. A very peaceful setting today.

On a clear day you can see Tinian Island. It played a significant part in WWII. Suicide Cliffs - sad to know the history of how so many lost their lives here.

I visited this stunning location on Tinian as part of a WWII history trip with my wife. This spot was both beautiful and somber. A must see stop for WWII history buffs.

We actually had sunrise service here in March 2002. It was beautiful. Wow! It's really not a "beach" area, but it was still nice to listen to the waves crash up on the rocks.

Great place with a lot of history. Saw quite a few sea turtles in the water below which was great. Found an old bullet which was neat. View of the deep holes in the hillside show from military shelling during he was.

There are no many things to do in Tinian, but it is just good as it is. It's a one of the best peaceful in the world.

I borrowed a mountain bike and headed off. The roads are really smooth and it's a long steady climb to the lookout, but achievable. From the lookout to suicide cliff is nearly all downhill. No shops out there so pack your own water and snack.

The whole island is rich in history as we get many Japanese tourists to see some WW2 memorials and sites. This is the cliff that Japanese were jumping off when the American came to the island during WW2. Intersting history and beautiful horizon of the ocean. Not much to actually do at the cliffs, but admire the great view. I used to come here a lot with my family when I lived on the island. The are no safety measures at the cliff so you can go as close you want to the edge.

Rich in history, there are plaques to commemorate lives lost. Beautiful ocean views. Some roads are a little rough.
