너무 아름다운 곳 입니다
May 2019 • Family
This is very beautiful place. But it is too hot so you need to prepare sun cap. And you can see the deep blue sea. In the night, this place shows different scene. You can see many stars. I have never seen before like that. There is some place to park so if you can drive, use rent car and feel free in the great nature. There is one store which sells cool drink. There is restroom so you do not worry about. Wind is cool, beautiful scene.

'Banzai' Cliff of solemn sadness and peace
Mar. 2019
Memorials abound here for WWII's sad, tragic history of suicides of Japanese military and citizens. Like 'Suicide Cliff' at Mt. Marpi visible as backdrop from here, one cannot help but feel choked up with sadness of its tragic history. Beautiful vistas of mass blue ocean and tumultuous waves crashing against cliffside below.

Beautiful , breathtaking view but sad history during ww2. Need to rent car to get there, no public transport. Bring hat or umbrella and cool drink.

The must see historical stop on Saipan
Oct. 2017 • Business
Banzai Cliff - renamed here on T.A. in some odd bit of PC (signs all over the island, as well as the spot itself, refer to it as Banzai Cliff.). There are several monuments and memorials here as well as an explanatory plaque. Photos are hard to get in any way other than a pretty scene. A fair number of Japanese tourists but most of the younger ones seem to be more interested in clowning around, a bit more dignity would be welcome. That minor annoyance aside. a visit here coupled with neighboring Suicide Cliff, looming to the south, is a memorable one.

Nice Views

Banzai Cliff is worth a stop due to its significance during WW2. It's tough to get good photos of a cliff when you're on it so stop for the history more than the photos.

Gorgeous Scenery But Had a Tragic History
Mar. 2017 • Family
This is located at the Northern part of Saipan and had many monuments dedicated to those who lost their lives during WWII. This place is another cliff where Japanese jumped off and refused to be captured during WWII. The scenery here is so beautiful and must see when visiting Saipan.

Saipan Sightseeing

My first time to visit Banzai Cliff. It's a bit emotional to learn the legendary story of the Japanese soldiers. These spot has been well taken care of. Clean and it has fresh air coming from the 🌊 sea. The sound of the waves when it hits the rocks will make your stay feel a lot like you're in paradise.

WOW! Tragic yet beautiful.

This is a place you must visit while on Saipan, to pay respect and to feel the warm South Pacific breeze and sub on your face while taking in an amazing view. Many people died here; there are monuments, and amazing views.

USED TO CALL THIS "BANZAI CLIFF"
Nov. 2016 • Business
When in Saipan you'll drive around the island and there are at least 3 MUST SEE stops along the way 1) The Grotto; 2) Suicide Cliff; and, 3) Banzai Cliff. This was a tragic site during WWII where Japanese chose to jump off into the sharp rocks and boulders far below into the surf rather than be captured by American soldiers. There's a solemn Japanese memorial nearby. Watch the endless waves slam into the rocks below you and picture those fateful days during the battle of Saipan.
