Good history

Another must stop while you are here. There is so much history on the island that it’s be a shame to miss this memorial. Huge respect for all of the Americans and local citizens who gave their lives during this campaign.

This is a great museum of the history of the Japanese occupation after WWI and leading up to WWII as well as through out the war. An excellent 10min film is shown when you arrive. Entrance is free.

Remembering the War
Sep. 2019 • Couples
The museum is great; starts with a video about the Battle of Saipan, Tinian, and Guam. Displays in the museum are excellent and they even touch on the local Chamorro and Carolinian cultures.

The grounds have a few memorials and pill boxes to see. One memorial was being renovated, but the other was dedicated to the Chamorro and Carolinian people that were victims of the war and was tastefully done.

Interesting and Informative Park and Museum
Jul. 2019
What a great addition to the island's "must do". The Museum is very informative and it has a great shop with a lot of informative books. The Park itself is extensive and can be enjoyed as a place to walk and is adjacent to a beach park area.

Gorgeous Park Honoring Veterans
Jun. 2018 • Family
Wonderful walking paths that lead through the park to the marina or Garapan for shopping and lunch. Great place to play with the kids, have a picnic, or stroll the grounds and memorial area. Best part was the well-kept museum honoring veterans that my Dad was fortunate to visit when it opened. Take the time to enjoy everything there is in the park or nearby water.

visitor center has small exhibit about WW2
Mar. 2019 • Solo
I liked the visitor's center at the park. I could learn about America's involvement with Saipan a bit. You can watch a 20 minutes video (in several languages upon request).

Free entrance and really gives a connection with those who experienced the WW2 battle through several first person written accounts.
