You can't go to Clyde without having a look around Eade Gallery. The range of local artists is excellent and their exhibitions are always impressive. There is a great range of prices, so definitely something for everyone.

Encouraged to trip down to CLYDE by our Wanaka residing daughter & enjoy the beautiful historic township, but the diamond in all this was stumbling into EADE GALLERY. Local arts was in abundance in all mediums - & we're not talking about the usual ' small town Arts & Crafts on offer. Eade has a world class range that covers photography, ceramics, even outdoor art - well set out in their garden.
We were drawn to the distinctive ceramic teapots of MARION NEWBURN ... mini works of art with endearing personality. Very much 'conversation starters' back home in Queensland.
The town is well worth the visit alone, but EADE GALLERY is a superb excuse to select some memorable mementos of your visit to Otago.

A beautiful gallery in the small town of Clyde, showcasing a collection of local New Zealand artists and photographers.
The exhibition on at the time we visited was between two local artists: one specialising inpainting using inks (Gretl Barzotto) and the other specialising in ceramics (Kathi McLean), and they both used their art medium to showcase their interpretation of the Nevis Valley (local landscape).
If we hadn't been traveling in a motorhome we would have purchased some of the works. A must gallery to visit in Clyde.

Visited during our rest day in Clyde. Lots of lovely paintings and sculpture by local artists. Able to chat with one as she painted a picture of Roxbugh Gorge Dam.

This lovely gallery showcases the work of local artists, including the charming Melanie Eade herself. We saw her work displayed at our B&B and had to take a piece or two home with us. Every time we look up and see the images of the Clyde bridge and the Dunstan House, we'll remember our trip on the trail and stay in this beautiful part of NZ.

Thank you so much for your review and kind words about my art. We used to own Hartley Homestead and the new owner bought a piece of my work, Dunstan House, which you saw hanging in the B&B.
kind regards

We dropped into thus gallery as we strolled around Clyde. The gallery is very well presented with a great selection of art and sculptures. The gallery features a guest artist and at the time of visiting the owner of the gallery was being featured. The staff member was very engaging.

The Eade Gallery showcases local photography and local scenery in grand, world-class format. I arrived with only minutes to spare before they closed and the brief viewing that I got was truly inspiring. See if you can get there with 45-minutes to truly absorb the magnificent surroundings (which you'll see when you're out on the bike trail).
