Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited today to meet a friend for brunch so only went to the cafe. It is absoluely grotty and is in major need of an overhaul. The kitchen was closed and there was very limited food in the cabinet. The two black couches are filthy dirty with all the vinyl worn off - they need to be biffed.
Two bus loads of people arrived so god knows what they ate.
will not be going back in a hurry :(

Lovely shop selling various products. Wide range of honey to be tasted. Liquid or cream?
Good stop on the way North.

Stopped by on our way up to the Bay of islands. We missed the show but we had a great time tasting honey and purchasing beeswax items. It is a great little stop for a bathroom and gift shop experience.

we were a croup of four intending to visit the Honey Center. Thought we would have a coffee and cake first. Upon entering the cafe a young girl was hoovering, it was 2.50 pm.She keep on hoovering so I asked her how long they were open till. The reply was 3.30pm, so we thought thats good we have enough time. A family of three were seated. Another lady was out the back cleaning the kitchen and eventually came out and each request was greeted with a rolling of the eyes. We asked if we could sit outside. Upon bringing our order the young lady complained about serving outside having to walk on the peebles. i had once again asked the other staff lady what time they closed she said four o`clock. At 3.20 pm they locked the door to the cafe. The gentleman in the honey shop was very helpful and friendly. The cafe staff should take lessons from him.

Decided to use the Honey Centre as a rest point on our way out and I am very glad we did. The shop which sells all things Honey had some extremely friendly and informative staff who was interested in telling me about the Bees etc but also in asking about our day and our background.
We was allowed to try all the different type of Honey they sell with tasting sticks and they are very sure to make sure you don't use them more than once.
After purchasing our very tasty Honey we went into the cafe area which a little disappointingly could do with a little sprucing up. Again the staff was extremely friendly and helpful but they had a limited menu on due to having no cook.
I would highly recommend popping in for a coffee etc if passing near by.

If you don't like working in hospitality you should get a new job. I gave the cafe anothe chance but it seems they really need to train their staff how to treat their customers. The food is terribly overpriced also.

We stopped in for a quick coffee, but were pleasantly surprised by the gift shop and café. The coffee was fantastic, as were the candies we picked up in the gift shop. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful. If you are over this way, it is worth a stop in.
