We stopped at the Reptile park on our way back from walking to Ti Point (another 'must do' experience but it doesn't seem to be listed on Trip Advisor). Owned by an older couple who are obviously passionate - we found this far more interesting and extensive than we had expected. It is a little run down, but very worthwhile.... More

This is an interesting place to visit, The owner obviously is passionate about reptiles and takes good care of them. He gives a good talk to groups about the different reptiles. He was quite a variety including two alligators. There are also monkeys and a great bush walk to see all the exhibits.

Was scouting book me for things to do and the reptile park popped up, so decided to give it a go. Was very impressed with the effort put into this place. Had a great time and would definitely go again in the future. Great for families and a bit off the beaten track so you won't have to deal with... More

I am planning a school trip for 30 students and needed important information. I rang them up today and inquired. I hung up and that was fine. I realised I missed out a few key important questions and I had to ring them back. When the lady answered she asked if i just rang and i replied "yes". I prefer... More

WOW !! This is a GREAT place if you are a fan of cold-blooded critters of all shapes and sizes. Some are fast, some slow, some static, all are interesting!! There is even one mammal on display too . . really enjoyed this visit ..lovely natural setting and sea views ..peaceful and quiet ..a must to visit!

This is a very tired reptile 'zoo' with small concrete style enclosures, hard to find lizards and the saddest solo monkey in a cage I have seen in a long while. This kind of establishment may have been acceptable 30 years ago but it no longer is. The entrance fee is expensive and the site is very steep. I know... More

Great creepy crawlers everywhere up top by entrance plus turtles galore. Follow the paths down to the bigger beauties - crocs/lizards/monkeys/ etc. climb back up. So not good if your legs not working prop!!! d

The reptile park just out of Matakana is well worth a visit. They have a great variety of reptiles from New Zealand and around the world. The reptiles are well cared for and easy to see. It is great for a relaxing time out in nature with stunning views out to the ocean as well. Booking on line saves you... More

We were lucky with the weather and the feeding times, as most of the reptiles were sun basking or feeding. The only animal we didn't see, was the monkey, but at 40 years old, he was probably sleeping!
