Amazing little spot for surfing, swimming, relaxing on the beach or playing on the grass park area. The water and waves are for beginners to the more experienced with sand not rock ocean floor and no dangerous swell or rips.

Awesome waves for surf or buggy boarding, long nice beach, walks and tracks for everyone. There is also a camp site as one day is never enough in this awesome place.

I have spent the day at Tawharanui during Matariki festival this year. The Sunrise and teh view to the islands was spectacular. Anchor bay reminds me of Coromandel.

The day I spent at Tahwaranui Regional Park with my photography club was wonderful. The walks we took produced some brilliant vistas, some marvellous images of the wild birds and the walks were invigorating. Not too strenuous, which suited this body of 70 years old....More

The road is sealed but there is no place to launch a boat, the nearest public launch is Baddley's and Campbell's beaches or Omaha.
