One of the most scenic walk to go in New Zealand is free. Definitely a must do. Preferably choose a sunny day and spend some time there. There are very good paid activities there but the walk itself worth the visit.

Drove here along the mountain road through the Coromandel forest. Along the way, massive hedges 20-30ft protecting Chinese gooseberries or kiwis as they became known. Hahei is a beautiful beach but nothing compared to Cathedral Cove. The best in NZ. We walked there through wonderful...More
Even in winter it is a spectacular sight. Definitely worth the walk to get there. Beautiful waterfal and secondary cave - amazing.
Our fist day in New Zealand brought us to Hai Hei beach & Cathedral Cove. Absolutely stunning! Just like in all the pictures we had been looking at. The hike was not difficult, although there were a few steep parts, but the views were completely...More

The car park is quite small so you need to get there early or be prepared to wait, or have a long walk to get to the start. The walk is long and there are some steep climbs and a number of steps, the views...More
