I was a part of a group of 12 women in their mid twenties. Savannah Estate was the first stop on our winery tour and when we arrived the owner treated us like we were a nuisance. It is important to add that our server (Lisa) was wonderful, attentive and we could not rate her higher.
When sitting at our table we did get up to take a few pictures of one another, however making sure not to get in anyones way, we were also laughing and having enjoying ourselves but ensuring we stayed respectable.
At one point the owner turned to us and scolded us and told us that we need to use our inside voices and that there were other people there. We can understand that there are other people there but the way we were spoken to was rude, belittling and really turned us off the experience. We had another patron from another table tell us how unjustified the owner was as it was clear we were just having fun and we were not even being that loud.
After our last wine the owner came over again and rushed us to leave speaking in a short and sharp tone that she needed the table and we needed to leave. I can understand the need for turning a table over however we had not even been there an hour so maybe they need to have a better booking system.
We are disappointed in the way we were treated because from the outset we were made to feel like we weren't welcome at the estate. It turned most of us from buying a bottle of wine as we did not feel welcome and we were disgusted by the way we were treated.

Dear Climber680492,
I apologize if you felt like my asking you and your group to be slightly quieter was out of line. I’m trying to run a business and when 3 tables around your group comment on the level of noise it is my responsibility to address this and create an environment that all can enjoy. I politely asked you to be quiet & after another ten minutes of the same noise & the same irritated patrons around you I then asked you to you to be quiet again and was met with immature remarks from your group and relief from other customers when you finally toned it down. After you had COMPLETED YOUR 45 MINUTE TASTING which is our designated time we then needed to clean, sanitize and reset for the next group as is normal practice. which is when I asked if you would like to go and sit on our lovely big picnic tables and feel free to take your wines down and wait for your driver as you were obviously not ready to leave and remained sitting there chatting and drinking for another 15 minutes. So you were not RUSHED AT ALL
Everyone is made to feel welcome at our cellar door we are like a family and pride ourselves on casual, fun and welcoming tastings and if you read all of our other reviews you will see this. However I am not willing to allow the behavior of one group disrupt the enjoyment of others.
Kind regards,
Savannah Peterson

This winery is outstanding and a must visit in the Hunter region. A wine for every occasion. We enjoyed a delicious cheese platter with our wine tasting and the hostesses Savannah and Kate were just amazing.
It was refreshing to see a young women Savannah being so passionate about her work in the art of wine making and this shows in the wines being produced at Savannah Estate Winery. A very memorable experience

You will not be disappointed with a visit to Savannah estate. Not only do they have some of the best wines in the Hunter, the have the most entertaining cellar door manager. Kurt is not only very knowledgeable with the wines but is such a nice bloke that you just want to spend time with him and learn about the wines. Hence why this was our second visit in 2 weeks!!!!
Highly recommend a visit to Savannah Estate.

Thank you Niamh and Savannah for a wonderful tasting experience. After tasting so many delicious wines I decided to sign up for my first ever wine membership. Bring on the first shipment in November! I can’t wait to see where you take the winery from here...

It’s been 2 weeks since we’ve returned from our visit to the Hunter Valley and my one big regret is not buying more of their delicious wines whilst we were there! From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out- it was a 10/10 experience. Firstly, the cottage is absolutely lovely. Secondly, having the pleasure of meeting Savannah herself was so brilliant. She was an excellent host- welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic, and so very helpful. We were blown away by her recommendations of food and wine pairings and just the overall friendly and amazing customer experience she provided! And most importantly, the wines - my god, they were something else. The Sparkling Malbec was nothing like we’ve ever had before and needless to say, it was one of our (quite a few) purchases from the day. The verdelho was lovely too!! They all were.
We have probably visited over 15 wineries in the Hunter region and Savannah’s was the most memorable one by far. Without a doubt.
Thank you Savannah!

First time visiting this quaint little winery and certainly won't be the last. Best white wines I have tasted in a long time. The cheese platter was phenominal and very generous in size. The host was lovely and very obliging to our taste choices too.

Recently dropped into Savannah Estate as part of a wine tour and gosh was I glad it was on the trip!
Sometimes on a tour you visit places for the wine, sometimes for the vibe/staff. Well, Savannah Estate was a massive tick for both!
The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable, but also loved a chat and a laugh. We were a larger group that came in on a busy Saturday, but we never felt left behind or forgotten.
We loved all the wines we sampled, but the sparkling malbec is an absolute must try and will be a part of the regular rotation!

My husband and I visited on Friday ( 22nd November) afternoon, and from the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a gentleman who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and the cheeseboard was absolutely perfect—well-stocked with a great selection of cheeses and biscuits that paired beautifully with our wine.
We've been coming to the Hunter for a couple of years now as a getaway, and I have to say, Curtis is hands down the best sommelier we've ever encountered. His expertise truly made our visit special. We will definitely be returning every time we're in the Hunter!"

Enjoyed a terrific weekend in the Hunter Valley this long weekend. Our first stop was in the Mount View area of the valley and had wine tastings at Peterson's Mount View, Briar Ridge and Savannah Estate which are some of the best wines to enjoy and received friendly service. The views are spectacular with a variety of excellent wines, sit back and listen to the history and the stories of each wine. Then finish off with a selection of fine Italian food at Briar Ridge. The hospitality here was first class and tasty all reasonably priced. A couple more to visit and receive friendly service were Charteris, Wren, Pepper Tree and Ben Ean Wineries. If you are not into the wines the Four Pines at the Farm Brewery is worth having a drink and then back to Harrigan's Irish Pub. The pick for the night time is fine dining at the Ill Cacciatore, this was outstanding and had a great selection of dishes. Finally, our highlight of the weekend was our Ballon Flight over the Valley with Aloft. An amazing and quiet relaxing weekend.

Nice wine in an ok location a bit away from the crowds... I would avoid the tasting though, too much wait between wines (30minutes at least) gave our group an hour and 15m between cellar doors and only managed to try 2 wines in a rush. Might be due to low season being so understaffed but I would thought a nice spring weekend would be fine. My mistake. Wine was nice, I would just get a bottle next time if I have time to visit them again, but having so many options...
