About
For 45 years Mount View Estate has been producing some of the most awarded wines in the Hunter Valley. We are one of the oldest vineyards in the picturesque Mount View region. Both vineyards produce fruit of exceptional quality which is handcrafted in our boutique winery. Rated 5 stars by James Halliday, Mount View Estate's wines are 100% estate grown and produced. From the vine to the glass, we are in full control of the growing of our fruit and the production of our wine.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in here as part of a wine tour (Gourmet Getaway Wine Tours) and were impressed by the quality of wines on offer at this winery. Nice views of the rolling hillside looking out from the cellar door, which has outside seating to enjoy the views while tasting some wine. Cellar door staff were very informative and friendly, and we bought a carton of wine, which was sitting at home for us when we got back from our holiday. Would come back here again next time we are in the region.

Was up at the Hunter on the long weekend (7/06/15), this was our first stop of a wine tour and by far the best, the staff were wonderful, experienced and helpful. A little plate of cheese, crackers, and some olives were on the table and a nice touch. One friend was quite hungover and they gave him some almonds and a little sultana cake as it helps with hangovers. If you become a member the mixed dozen twice a year is a great option.

We fell in love with this little winery.
We paid $5 for tasting an awesome variety of wine and being taught about each and every time Shana (I think that was her name "without the R" ) was amazing. She taught us alot about the different wines and also recommended Emersons which was a delicious Restaurant for lunch. It was just the two of us and we were served different types of cheeses with crackers to keep us going. Walked out with their gorgeous Reserve Chardonnay which was delicious and also a bottle of their Sav Blanc 😘Highly Recommend This winery for couples on a Friday afternoon when there are no groups around!

This Winery is set in the most beautiful surroundings. We were a group of 14. Tables were set outside for the Tasting. Beautiful cheese and biscuits were provided to nibble on. The young lady conducting our tasting was very knowledgeable, funny, friendly. The Wines from this area were amazing! A big thank-you to all who work at Mount View, everyone we came across was a credit to the Winery. Also lots of things to purchase from Wine to Olive Oil. All products of the Hunter Valley. Highly recommend this Winery

Amazing view and great wines but that was not all, Shana and Melissa really enhanced our experience of visiting Mount View Estate winery. We were greeted before we even got in the door and shown to a lovely room, where they went above and beyond with the usual tasting of wines, supplying us with bread, cheese, olives and chocolate, even bringing more out when we ate it all! Both ladies provided a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Will definitely go back and certainly recommend to anyone looking for more than over the counter wine tasting.

We had a fabulous time with Shana - she was passionate and knowledge about her products, and lots of fun. The winery itself is gorgeous - the views are amazing, and the Flagship Shiraz is an exceptional wine! A great experience!
