Tucked away up a small lane, Petersons Mount View is set on a hill with incredible views. If you’re lucky you may be served by Federico, a friendly, knowledgeable expert. There’s a picnic table in a small leafy spot set to enjoy the vista. Tastings reasonably priced at $15.

I took my large group there last week, Doug was fantastic. Everyone loved him , knowledge, personality and cheeky.

Absolutely first class. High quality wines presented in a lovely relaxed setting. The cellar door presenter was friendly, knowledgeable and gave a great insight into the Peterson approach to wine. Highly recommended.

The absolute best of traditional wineries. Superb wines with a great history and all made by feel and palette rather than laboratory and measure. You can taste the commitment to excellence.
Try the different aged Shiraz offerings, enjoy the wonderful location and views, and be indulged by your lovely and knowledgeable hostess. Huge thanks Cherine - a fabulous way to finish our time in the Hunter region.

As Petersons wine club members, my wife and I were eligible to take advantage of a private wine tasting offer in the cellar at Petersons Mount View, and what an amazing experience it was. We were treated like royalty by the lovely Marie who managed to attend to us, as well as serve a constant flow of customers at the cellar door out front, without missing a beat. She was so informative, knowledgeable and passionate about the entire range of Petersons wines, all of which were of an incredibly high standard. I have visited many cellar doors and tasted thousands of wines throughout Australia, and I would have to say that Petersons is up there with the very best in terms of quality and value for money. So, if you plan on visiting the Hunter Valley region anytime in the future, I highly recommend a visit to Petersons Mount View - a brilliant experience!

We made a last-minute decision to stop here and it was such a lovely surprise! The view over the vineyards is lovely and the cellar/tasting room was incredible! Such a different vibe to all the others we visited that day - so cosy and provincial, with low light, barrels and bottles lining the walls. Our host Jessica was so much fun - very knowledgable about the wines, super friendly and with a very cheeky sense of humour. We loved her!
There were lots of different wine varietals to try here, and you can still have a lovely time even if you aren't a big red drinker.

This was the first winery we visited in a day on a tour of six and was definitely our favourite. The host serving us was attentive, knowledge and obviously very passionate and proud of the wine being served. She was also really sweet when she found out it was my girlfriend’s birthday.
The location was beautiful, outside you can see rolling hills covered in vines and inside you are surrounded by walls of wine in a beautiful wine cellar.
Every wine I tasted was unbelievably tasty and if you are a fan of big reds this is definitely one to visit.
I joined the wine club without hesitation and ordered extra wine to be delivered next week.

We’ve been to Hunter every year for the past 8 years and been to at least 40 vineyards. Peterson’s is hands down the best cellar door in Hunter, highest quality wines across the board, like an album where every song is a hit.
Maree and John are a delight, engaging storytellers, knowledge and bring the whole experience to life.
Highly recommend their aged semillion, Chardonnay, marsanne and Shiraz.
Must stop at mount view!

Petersons have the best sparkling wine in the Hunter by far. We arrived there on a Sunday morning and were able to arrange a tasting for five without any difficulty. A cheese plate was offered for each person and we were able to taste the full range of wines. Peterson’s is a must for all visiting the Hunter.

Peterson’s is an absolute must try, located at Mount View, this cellar door it is authentic and quite the treat. Group of 7 friends seated swiftly with tastings catered to your palette and liking. There was no set menu and we enjoyed trying over 10 drops! Peterson’s are clearly passionate about wine making and invest their time to produce a quality drop... looking to forward to enjoying the case we picked up on the way out!
