Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is little more than a cellar door winery. The buildings are quite interesting but there is little to see inside other than a pottery display, all of which is for sale.
A tasting costs A$10 and includes 3 varieties plus biscuits and cheese.
It would have been interesting to see how they are made.

Must visit if you’re in the area. Genuine friendly welcoming people. Tasted wine and showed us where the pots are made. Nice country lifestyle and beautiful garden. Some unique wines are here. You speak to them and you will learn a lot about local area.
We had a great time. Please visit this place and support them if you’re in the area

We dropped in 6 months ago and will definitely revisit when we’re in the area. The owner was informative, engaging, generous and honest. Not to mention charming and entertaining. He spent a couple of hours with us, talking about the process of producing mead, the varieties, the history and the culture of hid produce. We tasted everything he had, even though we could only afford a few bottle s. It was an extremely interesting and rewarding experience. We’ll be back for sure. If you're within 50 kms of this charming little place, don't miss out on a unique and rewarding opportunity.

Recently visited old school winery and found it disappointing. After fairly long Journey to get there, required use of toilet facilities but was informed that it was out of order. Had to cut visit short for this reason, would have expected maybe a porta loo for customers might be an idea if they want people to stick around and purchase wine.

The Old School Winery and Meadery is quite a unique experience. The buildings are rustic and in a picturesque setting. Our tasting host was Freya who provided a very friendly and informative tasting experience. I enjoyed the semi-sweet meads but found the stronger varieties too sweet. We quite enjoyed the mulled spiced mead. We also tasted their more conventional reds and 1 white wine. These also had their own unique tastes although I did not find them particularly appealing. The pottery is part of the Cellar Door and you can observe the potter at work while viewing the finished products.

We went on backroads trail and discovered this little beauty. This place combines pottery with vineyard and meadery. Pottery is full of cute little glasses, while winery has Italian style wine. As to meads, this is very unique experience and the meads come out with unique taste. We ended up buying 4 bottles because it's hard to choose between different styles!
Kids enjoyed playing in the garden, where sculptures are hidden in the bush.
A whole outdoor setting is beautiful

We had come to Moama for a 4 day stay and and had decided to visit The Old school Winery. Heading off from our motel we travelled on Perricoota rd towards Womboota which took us 25 minutes to get there. On arrival my wife and I made our way into the tasting room where we were greeted by a person (who if he had been wearing a red suit) would have passed for Santa Claus. He made us welcome and started to explain to us about his meade from his dry up to his sweet. While we were tasting on a small burner there was a meade brewing which had herbs and spices added. The tasting of this was very warming and would be a good brew for the winter. After spending a good hour and plenty of talking and tasting we bought a couple of bottles and made our way to have a look at the old Womboota village.

Great winery to visit and learn about Mead. Owners very informative. Loved it so we purchased a couple of bottles. Well worth the trip out to School Road Womboota for this little hidden Gem

Very rustic boutique venue half an hours drive from Moama at Womboota. Sampled the full range from the sweeter mead wines through to the dryer varieties. Cracker biscuits and cheese provided to accompany the tastings. Friendly informative host to guide you through the tasting styles and recommended food accompaniments.
Wide range of wines to choice from at assorted prices. Picnic facilities available.Venue has online purchasing website . Artisan pottery studio onsite with range of unique pottery to view and purchase.

Dropped on whilst driving the backroads trail. Unfortunately. we missed the signed turnoff at first.
Nice and cool inside on an oppressively hot day.
Teenagers were a little bored whilst mum and dad sampled the meads. At least one of our kids could be the designated driver.
Very interesting to learn about meads from the maker.
If you have not tried a mead before, this is your chance.
Some nice pottery for sale too.
