Across from the whaling museum is an artist gallery that has enticing artwork in their windows. We went in and I was surprised at the amount of art work and the variety of styles Moniz is very capable in. Although he specializes in nautical art, I bought a bird print as it just was too wonderful to leave in the... More

Arthur Moniz is one of the most unbelievable artists I've had the pleasure meeting and viewing works from. A nice, quiet guy with such talent. It's almost like looking at photographs. Recommended. I also heard he has his art at Westport Rivers Winery. Worth checking out!

The Arthur Moniz Gallery contains some of the most beautiful nautical artwork and local to the New Bedford waterfront scenes that I have ever seen. One can spend hours looking at the work presented there.

Small but great art work. When in New Bedford you definitely need to stop in.. Immediately across from the great Whaling Museum.

So many beautiful paintings and etchings from one of New Bedford's foremost artists, Arthur Moniz. Mr. Moniz's paintings and prints are not to be missed. They range from nautical to country landscapes. Mr. Moniz recently designed a Christmas tree ornament that was accepted by President Obama to hang on the White House Christmas tree. The gallery also does custom framing... More

Nice paintings and copies, but seem to be over priced. Is in the center of historic district so worth visiting.

I love this artist and I own several prints by him, so I was really disappointed that the gallery was closed on the day I visited. I would recommend a visit to this artist's gallery to see the beautiful paintings of the surrounding area.

Walking through Arthur Moniz's Art Gallery is more like visiting an art museum with one contributor. Mr. Moniz is a very talented man. If you're lucky you will visit when he's on site. He'll explain each painting sharing his thought process to create the painting. He was recently commissioned by the New Bedford Whaling Museum to paint a commemorative painting... More
