This is the best place to see sea turtles! Please leave them alone and let them do their thing, but it's a beautiful place to watch them playing! Definitely get some selfies from a distance!

This small park is located on Makena Road and is only a few steps from the water, which makes it a nice spot for snorkeling in calm conditions (most of the time)... there’s a restroom, outdoor showers for washing off, and a parking area nearby....More

Small but busy park. Lots of scuba divers doing classes and shore dives. There was a large boat in the bay with snorkelers in the water. There isn't a lot to see snorkeling in the bay - minimal coral, minimal fish, but there were turtles...More

A lovely place to see along with history. Lots of good snorkeling nearby as well. It is a windy road that leads there from Kihei; at times it narrows down to one lane, so be sure to drive slowly and carefully.

And the bay is a great snorkelling place also, popular for boats, but also for a shore dive. Watch out with the water stream that could get you into trouble.

We wanted to see a turtle! We found Makena Landing in the Maui Revealed book we'd been reading our whole trip. The sharp black rocks are a little intimidating if you aren't a strong swimmer. When entering at the small sandy beach area, the water...More

Watch the waves, can be an easy entry once you're past the sandy bottom. Many coral heads and lots of fish.

This is a good beach for snorkeling but the waves break at the shoreline so getting past them can be tricky. You have to be careful to time your entrance so you don’t get knocked down.

The snorkeling here doesn't compare to that at La Peruse (Paruse?) but we loved this little park. It's perfect for a picnic, and there are feral chickens running around (some followed by chicks), and at the north end of the park, through the trees, is...More

This became one of our favorite snorkel spots this year. There is a great amount of fish species here, turtles and if you are lucky some large rays. If the water is good venture out around the point and you will find a ton of...More
