I met a friend here for swimming and snorkeling. It was still fairly early in the day, and there were people and beach umbrellas everywhere! I understand why the park is popular -- it's a large beach, with good waves, and a short walk from many resorts. But large crowds make my experience less enjoyable, so we took off for... More

We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani, right on Wailea Beach. The beach was a dream; clear and calm water, soft sand under our toes, and whales putting on a show right in front of us! Highly recommend this beach.

View was fantastic. We are able to enjoy Sunset from the beach. Some night is better than other depends on how thick is the cloud.

We stayed on the beach in Wailea the 2nd week of January. We have stayed in Kapalua and Kaanapali and I actually liked Wailea much better. There were days when the water was calm and then days when it was definitely more challenging...but fun overall. Whales were a common but exciting sight. There are rocks on either end of the... We are staying at the Wailea beach villas so having them do the beach set-up is invaluable. If you aren't staying at one of the resorts you will have to bring your own towel and be prepared to bake in the sun! You definitely will want to bring an umbrella. Absolutely gorgeous setting though and fun waves to play in.

Outside of Grand Wailea. Uncrowned, clean. Not rocky. The hotel, does have a few chaise lounge chairs along the beach area on the grass.

The beach was very nice, the surf was up for 2 of the days and you have to be careful for yourself and children. Know yourself and when in doubt, dont go out. I consider myself a decent swimmer and found myself being tossed around easily.

This is a shared beach by all the resorts on Wailea. We stayed at the Marriott and they required us to carry our chairs and umbrellas if we wanted to spend the day here so we chose to walk the beach at night when it was quiet. It is definitely good for night stroll on the beach.
