for such a small museum and town the curator is passionate and will really make you feel welcome. they have special showings upstairs. OVerall it is quaint and really is a great building too

Emanuel Petersen came to Greenland from Denmark by a coincidence. He had worked as a theater decorator and as a marine painter at the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. He fell in love with (understandably) Greenland, it's nature, the people and the light. All of this...More

For a small town the art gallery was a surprisingly good exhibition. Set on 2 floors there was an interesting collection of scrimshaw on the first floor.

Some nice pix of local area painted by an apparently Danish article. Admission is free if you also go to town museum. Nice break from hiking and icebergs.

A very nice little museum. There was a special exhibition with the conflict between new and old - and it was very good. Should you have a question I'll be happy to answer it.

This museum has a very big Collection of Emanuel Petersens paintings. He might not be a great artist but his paintings is showing the Greenland that was in the old days and therefore an important part of greenlandish culture. The museum even shows contemporary art...More
