My favorite place is about an hour drive from cienfuegos deep in the Escambray Mmountains you will find this spot with a lovely waterfall, also home of exotics birds like Tocororo, it is a must see place

A bit touristy, but beautiful and pretty easy to access (you do need to climb some very high steps).

Wonderful drive from Cienfuegoes to Trinidad with stop over @ El Nicho. Worth short detour. Swimming was fantastic. Fair number of tourists.

The waterfalls and swimming were fantastic!!! The climb up was great!! We also did a side tour with a guide to the beginning of the falls which starts at a big cave!! It was spectacular!!

Your best bet will be to catch El Nicho when traveling between Santa Clara and Trinidad. Round trip can be expensive in private car, but you can probably find a tour service to take you there. There are several restaurants... More
