Cienfuegos was one of our favourite parts of Cuba and there is so much variety to see. It seems few people visit here but it was only a slight diversion on our drive to Trinidad. Punta Gorda itself is not a destination must but as part of a visit to Cienfuegos, the walk and the architecture are interesting.

It's an attractive area but quite far from the city centre and there isn't really anything to do so I wouldn't really bother. There are few restaurants there but especially hard for vegetarians

If you have time to spare, the walk to Punta Gorda is pleasant enough, we walked along the seawall were possible and found a local bar to rest at which provided local priced drinks.

Not really a fascinating place if you ask me. Enjoy some marvelous old buildings on your way to Punta Gorda and walk for about 30' to see locals enjoying the sea, discover old villa's and that's about it. Or did we miss something?

Cienfuegos itself is probably among the nicest places in Cuba. This place is definitely a must see in Cienfuegos but don't go there just for the view. If possible, walk to it all the back from the malecon. Enjoy watching the people, the houses, and taking your time to get there. Cuban style!

Very very nice place and close to Havana. Lost of Casa Particulares and Cienfuegos is a nice and clean town. Better even if you have a boat as the marina is very attractive.

Nice area with lots of colonial villas. Nice for a walk. If you like nightlife, you will probably also find something for you. I haven't tried since I was traveling with a kid.

Take a stroll along the Malecon right to the end, admire the architecture and art then enjoy mojitos whilst spotting pelicans from the band stand :-)

We were advised to take the 2 hour walk (3½ km there and back) from downtown Cienfuegos to shake down another huge Casa Particolar evening meal. We set out at around 7:30pm and accomplished the objective but got a cycle rickshaw back! From our experience, do not do like us but set out before 5pm if you are going to... More
