Nice for a walk

Nice area with lots of colonial villas. Nice for a walk. If you like nightlife, you will probably also find something for you. I haven't tried since I was traveling with a kid.

Cienfuegos itself is probably among the nicest places in Cuba. This place is definitely a must see in Cienfuegos but don't go there just for the view. If possible, walk to it all the back from the malecon. Enjoy watching the people, the houses, and taking your time to get there. Cuban style!

Very very nice place and close to Havana. Lost of Casa Particulares and Cienfuegos is a nice and clean town. Better even if you have a boat as the marina is very attractive.

Take a stroll along the Malecon right to the end, admire the architecture and art then enjoy mojitos whilst spotting pelicans from the band stand :-)

We were advised to take the 2 hour walk (3½ km there and back) from downtown Cienfuegos to shake down another huge Casa Particolar evening meal. We set out at around 7:30pm and accomplished the objective but got a cycle rickshaw back! From our experience, do not do like us but set out before 5pm if you are going to... More

This is our second time to Punta Gorda. Beautiful and safe area to explore. We stayed at Hotel Jaguar here. Many tourist here but you can enjoy a relaxing quiet walk around the neighborhoods. We love the sunsets over the water from our balcony.

Unlike the downtown area of Cienfuegos, Punta Gorda was established a little later and has a more "modern" feel. By modern I mean 1940s-50s architecture, pastel-colored one story houses with front yards and small porches, think Miami in the 1950s, mixed in with some fine old mansions, some of which have become hotels and restaurants now. Begin by walking away... More

We were sent to this casa a bit randomly but sometimes random is luck ! Where to start ? The house is spacious, nicely decorated in a colonial style. In the morning, we enjoyed a luxurious breakfast in the patio overlooking the lagoon. In the evening, if you want, you can have an abondant and delicious diner. The room is... More

Cienfuegos was one of my favourite places in Cuba and La Punta was one of my favourite places in Cienfuegos, it was lovely to stroll in the sun along the straight Malecon passing some very nice old buildings and out to the Punta looking out onto the sea, there was ( Jan 2009 ) a small rum bar here also...
