While passing through Wiarton, we just had to stop to see the statue of famous Willie. He's the groundhog that predicts more or less weeks of winter in Canada that happens every groundhog day on Feb. 2nd. Well, his predictions are questionable, but it gives...More

I suppose this goes along with giant apples and perogees elsewhere but it's really underwhelming. The area has so much history and natural attractions that you KNOW they can do better than this.

We don't take selfies, but darn this is the home of Wiarton Willie. Off to his Statue. Lots of fun, so close to Wiarton's wonderful Bay. Have an Ice cream near by.

Wiarton Willie is a great Ontario Canada groundhog even though he cant always predict the end of Winter.

we took a family photo here, kinda quirky having a statue of a groundhog down by the waters edge, , but knowing the history of Wiarton , and what the area meant, it is rather fitting, cheers

Located on the water next to the old train station, the "Willie Emerging" statue (not joking, that's it's original name) is a cool spot for a quick photo stop. Very close to a great playground, tiny beach area, public pool, picnic area, camping & shops.

Great statue in a great park on the waters edge and campground. Though the current Willy passed away this summer he will be remembered with the statue. He was the reason for a gathering of people every Feb. 2.
