I very much enjoyed the change of pace drive from the interstate system to a ride back in time when everything seemed calmer and slower. The Trace is a great diversion and makes driving fun again with real scenery, no trucks and historical areas. My only regret is that I didn't pack a lunch first and eat on the Trace.... More

We only drove the first 80 miles, from Natchez, but it well worth exploring and stopping at the different points of interest.

There are parts of the Natchez Trace that are very interesting and historic. However, there are long stretches of the Trace that are very boring and parts of the Trace that are rough and in bad need of repair. Today my wife and I traveled 240 miles on the Trace and it took us almost six hours in our motorhome.... More

We drove the Trace all the way from Natchez to Nashville. We loved the 50 mph speed limit and smooth road. I had gotten a guidebook before our trip that explains ed all the stops. It was worth the money. We made overnight stops in Natchez, Jackson, Tupelo, Lawrenceburg , and Nashville. We loved the nature and history associated with... More

We drove 270 miles out of our way just to drive the Natchez Trace Parkway again, all 444 miles it. It is a wonderful, peaceful journey through lovely terrain and habitats. It doesn't have the spectacular vistas of Skyline Drive or the Blue Ridge but does offer something new with almost every bend in the road.

The Parkway is scenic and you almost have the feeling you are driving through the mountains.....very peaceful. I'll do it again! If you have the time check out the Windsor Ruins along the way!

Only got to travel about 20 miles on The Trace, but part of it was driving on the Old Trace! Really gives you a sense of the history of the Natchez Trace parkway.

Beautiful leisurely drive with a number a wonderful historic and natural stops and sidings along the way. Highly recommend getting a guide that describes the stops. Take a short walk along one of the sections of the original Trace and feel its history. If you make it to French Camp, take time to explore the town and see their historical... More
