I loved driving and walking through this cemetery. The wrought iron and the old headstones in the different sections of the cemetery have an untold story of these lives that are buried here. It was fascinating to wonder about all of it.

There are two historic cemeteries in Natchez that happen to be side by side. Looking at earlier reviews, it is apparent that many visitors have gotten the two confused. The National Cemetery is for deceased U.S. service personnel and their spouses. All of the headstones are uniform and perfectly aligned, much like almost every National Cemetery I have ever visited.... More

Am not a frequent visitor of cemeteries but was struck by the reverence to those who have served their country and how many graves were of unknown soldiers; still discussed in terms of the rights of the confederates.

Natchez National Cemetery is uniquely set up compared to other National Cemeteries I have visited. There are several elevation changes with graves set on a curve in some sections. This NAtional Cemetery is very unique and a great way to honor veterens while in Natchez

If you want to really get a sense of how "senseless" much of the Civil War was, drive or walk through this cemetery and note how many of the graves are "Unknown US Soldier". Then go down the road to the Natchez City Cemetery and look the same sort of graves marked "Unknown Confederate Soldier". Then read a history of... More

We visited quickly prior to touring the homes in the area. Photographers can take some unique photos from the highest points in this cemetery of the Mississippi in the distance.

Take a drive through the beautiful and historic Natchez Cemetery. We planned to do the Angels On The Bluffs tour Nov. 6. Because of weather the tour was moved to the visitor's center, but we drove out there earlier in the day just to be able to see the cemetery. Very ornate stones, fencing, etc. Pick up a copy of... Have always wanted to know more about the cemetery, so went to visitor's center and RENTED the audio tour. It is well done and gives history on many graves but $15 to rent? Thought maybe we misunderstood the fee and that the $15 would be returned when we returned the audio CD. Not so. Pretty expensive tour! Do wish the... More

You can drive/walk or just walk this huge cemetery. Being respectful of course has some interesting tombs and headstones. If you are interested in this kind of thing or family history.
