The Natchez National Historic Park is an excellent example of mansion and outbuildings of a wealthy plantation. The house (mansion) tour is the highlight, along with beautiful gardens and massive impressive trees. Tour cost is minimal ... $10/person in February 2018.

Some older buildings from the days it was the major transportation route, plus some detail in the writing. More interesting to us was the ability to walk parts,of the old trace right there with the trees surrounding you and the wonder of how people carted...More

We stopped at the main Natchez National Historical Park to get my national park passport stamped and to see Melrose. However, while the brochure said that tours were given until 4:00, we arrived just before 3 only to be told that they were done doing...More

Melrose was one of my top two (out of 4) Antebellum home tours we took in Natchez. Our tour guide was incredibly informative and very entertaining. This tour is best paid for on sight and is not as pricey as some of the other homes...More

Natchez is a quaint community and the NHP is a must stop! Great interpretation of the antebellum homes of the south! Very informative visitors Center! What is also great is that the Natchez parkway starts here and goes all the way to Nashville

It certainly is interesting to see how the wealthy lived, one upon a time. It was a very nice tour, but a little long. I mean let's face it, once you've seen and understand the glamour of one room, you pretty much know the story...More

The day we arrived we found out we could see Melrose this day only because it was going to be closed the next couple of days for cleaning. We got there at 4:00 pm for the last tour but they close at 5:00 so by...More

One of the major reasons for visiting Natchez is the history and the antebellum style of housing; have been many times and never tire of seeing and feeling the history - unlike some reviewers, feel there is more to this than an antebellum home but...More

The Natchez National Historical Park will give you a taste of the local area in ante bellum and post-Civil War Mississippi. The great house tour is outstanding. The Park Rangers are very knowledgeable and youngster-friendly. Walk the grounds and take lots of pics.
