You are better off skipping this if you are visiting Mount Rushmore. They have the same amount or more information at the visitor center there' Place is old, kind of smelly with employees that don't know more about Mt. Rushmore that you do

This tiny place was set up choppily, uninforming, old and unkempt. The staff were not helpful in answering questions or even figuring out how much to charge us.

Everybody who goes into the Black Hills wants to see Mt Rushmore and yes, it is a visitors destination with lots to see and do. But, complete your journey to the area with an equally important visit to the Borglum Historical Center in Keystone. The Museum complements Mt Rushmore and vise versa. Do pay the extra cost for the headset... More

The Gutzon Borglum Historical Centre in Keystone is a must see before touring Mount Rushmore. Learn the story of the sculptor who carved the faces on Mount Rushmore. The centre displays models, tools and explains how the carving was done. Borglum started the work when he was 60 years old. Amazing what he accomplished.

I am so glad that we took the time to tour this exhibit. It provided fascinating information on the brilliant sculptor responsible for Mount Rushmore. I strongly recommend that anyone planning to see Mount Rushmore should come here also.

We did not intend to go to this particular museum (does not look like much from the outside), but we glad that we did...the audio tour was very educational and gave us historical background information about the sculpture of Mount Rushmore and other monuments. Being an audio tour we could take our time and step back and appreciate what we... More

Outstanding information. Very limited hours of operation. Fun to have picture taken with an impressive statute of Abraham Lincoln sitting next to you.

The problem-solving engineering that went into sculpting Mt. Rushmore had to all be developed on the fly. This center describes in great detail how it all came about.

Very informative museum- more (obviously!) about the man than the Monument, as he was quite a prolific sculptor. There is an entrance fee ($25 for 2 seniors and 1 Kid), but includes the audio tour. Good part of the audio tour is that you can replay it as needed. Hallways are a little dark, a little difficult for Mom to... More
