We visited Montezuma Castle as part of a trip to visit historical places in Arizona. The entrance museum was quite informative, and also had a cute gift shop. The site itself was interesting and historic, however, there isn't a lot to do or see. The...More

Our family loves National Parks/Memorials. This park is small and takes no more than an hour. The interpretive trail and visitor center gives you a feel for the way the native Americans lived in the 13th century. One of the most interesting pieces was the...More

We found this a little disappointing. It's $10 each to get in and it's little more than a 30 minute excursion. It is quite impressive, but not a huge amount to see

Really cool ancient dwelling built into the side of a mountain. Note: you cannot go inside (unlike Mesa Verde, where you can climb ladders to access the cave dwellings) which was disappointing. But still really cool to read about (they have a visitor center with...More

It was a short walk back to the castle in the mountain. Grandson earned national park badge here. Very interesting history

Our group loved Montezuma's Castle. The history of the people living here was so interesting and amazing. You could almost feel like you are back in the time; weaving baskets, collecting water from the nearby stream, hunting rabbit, climbing the ladders to the the openings...More

We fly out of Phoenix Sunday evening. I was wondering if we could do Jerome and Montezuma's Castle in about 4 hrs. Do they let you up into the castle?

We traveled from Prescott and did not stop in Jerome, but we did the castle and the well in about 2-2.5 hours. And you cannot go up into the castle. Walking tours stopped when geologists deemed it unsafe.

How much time should I allot for my trip to Montezuma's Castle? We have a long trip that day and I am curious if it will take more than an hour or two. We only plan on walking the main path, maybe taking a handful of photos, and probably just breezing thru any visitors center/museum.

We were there for about 30 minutes- it's only a 2 minute walk to get there and there are a few trails.
