This is a beautiful square next to the Colegiata de San Patricio. I popped into the Tourist office there to buy tickets to get in and they were really helpful, recommending a walk round the city walls. Unfortunately, we went there midday and a lot...More

The Plaza de Espana symbolizes the struggle of the inhabitants of Lorca to forget the consequences of the earth quack in 2011. The town shows on different spots how it still need more repairing, but on the Plaza all is done and gives a beautiful...More

The cafe at the far end of the plaza - if you come from the tourist office - should be avoided. Although the waitress was smiling, attentive and nice - it doesn't help when the grumpy old guy (owner?) behind the bar decides to overcharge...More

This is the best example of baroque architecture in the area. Both the church, the attached priests housing, the civil registry and the surrounding buildings are gorgeous. Plenty of little bars and cafes to sit in and drink it in as well.

We came here primarily for the tourist office at the far end of the Plaza, but there are two good bars in the square where you can grab a drink and tapas. One is an Irish bar, but we happened to choose the other one,...More

We visited Plaza de Espana on a Saturday expecting the square to be lively with some cafes and restaurants. One cafe was about to close, so we went further downtown and a found a nice tapas bar. The Colegiata de San Patricio church was closed...More

I discovered this lovely, hidden Spanish square in Lorca whilst visiting with my mum. We enjoyed tapas in one of the Spanish bars and enjoyed looking at the magnificent St. Patrick's cathedral.

A lovely place to spend a little time in the heart of Lorca. The tourist information centre and the Colegiata de San Patricio are both to be found here but the effects of the major earthquake of 2011(?) are still be to seen.

It was our favourite part of Aguilas. It has historic buildings, shops, bars, restaurants and an excellent cake shop. It can be peaceful and quiet or as lively as you like with one of the organised activities (details from the nearby Tourist Information Centre). We...More
