I was surprised at how large the collection was. I love medicine and the Civil War so this was well worth it to me. The staff dressed in period clothing was very knowledgeable and willing to take their time and answer any questions. I would...More

This is the 3rd time I have been to this museum. It is priced fair and the experience is priceless. If you like history this is a must see. Take yourself back to the civil war and imagine the crude medical treatments as you get...More

The museum is well designed, with diaries, letters, exhibits and murals. It includes information about the needed medical work of the war, as well as information about real people who were nurses and doctors and medics, and soldiers. It was well worth seeing!

You learn a lot about just how primitive health care was in that era. It's really shocking to learn that more people died from infection in the hospital than from battle wounds. They had not figured out yet that you need to sterilize instruments, instead...More
