Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I work nearby, so I forget that others think of this as "destination" shopping. I am here, literally, twice a week. Old Navy and Scetchers, are musts. Levi's and Ann Taylor are frequent stops. Everything else can count me in at least once a month.
Tip: Take your AAA card to the Mall Office for fantastic discounts.

Prices still high. Welcome center has a game to play for discounts. But if you win a prize worth anything they tell you game not working right and don't honor the win. Levis store has very expensive prices. Cheaper at Kohls , Macys, Penny's. It's a trap for the Asian tourist to get ripped off before they get to Las Vegas.

I always stop here for gas and food on my way the Vegas. The food court is really good and offer a lot of choices, and same for gas, the numbers of shops is ok and prices is ok, but nothing to drive from LA or SD just for shopping and deals.

We couldn't shop anywhere without being shoved and pushed. Not one said excuse me. I grabbed a coach purse to look at and a tourist took it out of my hand. When I finally got helped by a Coach employee she showed me a purse and another tourist came up and tried to grab it from us. How rude is that. the sales agent said oh I am showing this lady a purse. The tourist the. Pushed herself threw us to leave ok at another purse. It was a zoo at all these outlets store. Out of more thank 150 bus tourists from China not a one was polite or proper. I like the prices and the shops. But honestly it's not worth being trampled on, shoved and pushed horribly. Employees are nice it's the tourists that make it impossible to go back their to shop. They have no manners at all!

We drive by this mall all the time on our way to Vegas but never stopped. Needing a bathroom break & a cup of coffee we decided to check it out. What we found were two separate outlet malls. The Tangiers Outlet is the mall you see from the freeway. It is loaded with brand name stores, it's large and impressive. You can purchase just about anything you need or want. The Barstow Outlet is in the back of the Tangier Outlet. It is more reminiscent of old Barstow with old wooden buildings, many of the stores are vacant and there is not much there. I could see why the stores are vacant hardly anyone was shopping there.
The pros: plenty of parking, good food choices both fast food & sit down restaurants, the Tangiers Outlet has a large overhang over the sidewalk and misters throughout to keep you cool in the Barstow heat.
The Cons: prices aren't that much less than retail! Tip shop the Sales racks, yes even the outlet mall has sale racks. Very crowded! The day we were there six tour buses were in the parking lot, probably going to or from Las Vegas.

Vegas gas outlets but Barstow has REAL outlet stores. The prices are easily 20-30% less then the same outlet stores in Vegas.

We visited this as part of an organised tour. I was disappointed at the selection of shops, items didn't seem to be much cheaper than retail. only one place to buy some food. I am sure there are better places to visit.

Not anywhere near as good as the outlets I've been to elsewhere in the US. Prices weren't that good and it seems like a popular stop off for coach-loads of rude tourists who get a 10% 'VIP' discount and have zero regard for anyone else in the shops they just push and shove through as they please.

You CAN find some amazing deals. I got $300 leather jacket for less than $70. The only bad things are 2. One, the heat. Of course nothing can be done about that. Two, when all the tour busses are there (which all 6 times I've been there, 5 times were busy heavy) it gets really crowded and the culture of most of the folks on those busses is so different it can be difficult. I'll leave it at that. Oh, and the food court sucks. Too expensive, took FORECER to get a hot dog.

There are two outlet malls in Barstow and this is the newer and obviously more successful of the two. The original Barstow Outlets across the street is probably 75% empty and very creepy. I felt sorry for the stores that are left in that mall. The Tanger Outlets have mostly upscale outlets like Rockport, Liz Claiborne, Nautica and such. We found some good deals at the Rockport store and the other shops we looked at had some nice things, but the prices weren't all that low. Most of the stores seemed to be properly staffed and it was no problem at check out. Ask about various additional discounts. We got an additional 20% off at Rockport with a AAA card. All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here, but if you are passing by on the way to or from Las Vegas it is worth a stop to get out of the car for an hour or so.

It's the same outlet. Tanger sold it so it is no longer found under their website, but you can look up "Outlets at Barstow" or "Barstow Outlets" & it shows up.
