Took longer than we expected, would recommend allowing at least half a day to visit the main sites along the route. Also take care as some of the places/houses close as early as 4pm and we missed a couple because we hadn't realised this. We started at Concord which is a nice small town, walked up to North bridge where... More

Anyone who loves American history should be sure to visit the Minuteman National Historical Park in Lexington, Massachusetts. Stretching almost the entire distance from Concord to Lexington, the park encompasses the Battle Road, which was the site of the fight between American militia and the British regulars on April 19, 1775. The new visitor center is full of information. A... More

We came to hike but also saw a reenactment of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, a great movie and exhibits in the Visitors' Center, had fun playing with old time toys and saw other historic homes on the way.

What fun - we have not visited for years and were able to score a visit during the opening of the Patriot's Day festivities which included the Bedford Pole Capping, the minuteman fife and drum, and the Paul Revere capture ceremony. The Revolutionary War began at Minute Man National Historical Park - the opening battle of the Revolution is brought... More

Stretching from Concord and winding through Lexington, the Minute Man National Park, and the Battle Field Road Trail, are filled with history and beautiful scenery. Along with your way, you'll see re-enactors Spring through Fall. Look at their website for more details. I happened upon one of the last weekends of Fall and witness a group firing rifles, spoke with... More

This is a wonderful spot, full of history and beautiful as well. There are different historical buildings set around the tourist center and within a short drive you can find other historical points of interest such as the Louisa May Alcott House and Walden Pond. Bring a blanket and picnic lunch and spend some time walking the trails and try... More

We stopped at the Minute Man National Historical Park. It was a cold day and we were not prepared so we did walk around much. The shop and tours are not available during the winter. However, one may make the walk along the historic trail - it is not closed during the winter.

It is awe inspiring to stand where the British and colonials fought. It is the place that is referenced in Emerson's hymn and where the 'Minuteman' sculpture stands with a musket in hand. Very emotional and reverent.

Take in history, beauty, plus some really great architecture along the path. Pleasant any time of year.
