I was fortunate to stop by the Old Manse on a free entry day, part of a celebration by the organization that maintains the house. I was particularly struck by the close quarters of the rooms and how small the kitchen area was. The house...More

We had a wonderful tour of the house which was the residence of both Emerson and Hawthorne at different times in their lives. It was a wonderful education enhancing our understanding of both writers.
