We really enjoyed the fascinating ranger-guided tour in early October of the Long House cliff dwelling at Wetherill Mesa. Our guide did an amazing job of providing historical information about this site. Long House is a spectacular archeological site that is about 300 feet long...More

Out of the 3 ticketed dwellings this is the easiest to get to but it is 2.5 miles so you need to have the necessary mobility and endurance to get to it. But it is spectacular; it was my favorite out of the 3 ticketed...More

The Long House tour was an amazing two-hour experience and a personal favorite of the three ranger-led tours enjoyed this past September at the Mesa Verde National Park. Ranger Margaret set a relaxed and contemplative pace as she walked the large group (~40 to 50...More

This tour takes a little longer and is worth every minute of it. To be able to walk through this great ruin is amazing. The tour included pictures, samples of pottery pieces and a wonderful discussion of pottery led by our Ranger guide. She was...More

This tour was a truly unforgettable experience. Our park ranger Alex was extremely knowledgable and made the ruins come alive with his descriptions of the people who once made this amazing place their home.

This was described as a two mile hike. You actually walk two miles down an asphalt path to the pueblo cliff dwelling. It's exactly like going to the Step House, but at least there it's self paced with a ranger on site to answer questions....More

2 1/2 mile hike, fairly easy to do. (I have asthma and had no problems). There are steps and small ladders and the hike back was okay as long as I took a break. Now for the best part... the tour guide, Michael, was knowledgable...More

Short walk down the trail and then significant elevation drop down some stairs to the dwelling. Very large dwelling and great to look round. Have to walk back up to get back but it isn’t too hard. Takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Need to get tickets, as this is a guided tour, taking about two hours. Our guide told us all kinds of things about the Pueblo Indians that once inhabited these ruins. Enjoyed the hike, and the stories that came with it. You need to be...More

This is probably my favourite of the three principal sites in Mesa Verde. There are fewer people here as it's a long way from the rest of the park and there are no facilities to speak of. The walk down to the Long House is...More

Long House is on Wetherill Mesa, only open in summer, but check with website or Facebook and, yes, you have to get a tour. You will be walking on the Mesa and walking on the ruin.
