Great Blues Band the night we were there.A friendly diversified crowd in this small place.A true dive bar with cheap beer prices, bathroom with a wet floor with a light hanging, brought me back memories of some of the places I frequented in my youth, without the music. If you enjoy the blues and your in the area its worth a stop.

Imagine combining the characters of Cheers in Boston with the banging music of the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle with the dive vibe of the 1970's... and you have the Northside. Esquire Magazine top 10 Dive bars in the country is clear and apparent. Awesome staff, patrons mix was amazing the night we were in. 60 year old guys dancing with... More

Popped in here on a solo visit to Atlanta and glad I did. Friendly staff and locals, had several interesting chats with various people, good beer and amazing music. Not knowing Atlanta at all was a bit concerned it would be miles out of town but was 6 dollar uber from midtown and in an interesting area with other good... More

Enjoyed the Allman Bros. Tribute Band and the obvious history that went along with this bar. The bartender was very attentive even with the crowd.

I wanted to experience real southern blues music and the Northside Tavern was my destination. If you're looking decor or comfort forget it, if you want real blues music with cheap drinks this is the right place. I'd far too many pitchers of Guinness but a great night.

Weekends are heavy on GA Tech students and socialites slumming, but the crowd is always a friendly mix, and very entertaining if you are a people watcher. The tiny dance floor is always... More
