We signed up for a tour and received a confirmation email. After driving downtown and parking and getting to the assigned building plenty early, we were stood up. This organization seems to be more interested in collecting money up front for a tour and never providing the tour. We followed up with the Atlanta Preservation Center and they refused to... More

I cannot rate the tour. It never happened. We made the reservation via the internet a few days in advance of the Saturday morning tour. My wife called the phone number at the appointed start time (11am) to ask about the mix-up. She may have talked to "Randy"...he said he was sleeping ... it wasn't his turn to guide the... More

I took the Ansley Park walk.It was great! Cheryl was the guide & she was so knowledgable! I lived in Atlanta for 10 years & now I have returned since September. I plan to go on more to hear the background of other neighborhoods, like the Druid Hills Neighborhood & the Inman Park neighborhood.

Tour Guide Alida Silverman gave us an excellent walking tour of the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta. We enjoyed hearing about the early days when Frederick Law Olmsted designed the neighborhood and the Coca-Cola Candlers inhabited several of the mansions. Our shady stroll through this beautiful neighborhood included frequent stops to admire the work of famous architects and the homes... More

I live on Peachtree Street, right in the heart of the tour, and I was amazed! Jeff was a great guide leading us from the Georgian Terrace down to 6th Street, reversing course on W. Peachtree, and ending up back where we started. The absolutely amazing part of the tour was that I have lived in this neighborhood for almost... More

I've actually lived in Atlanta for a while, and I've been downtown many times. But I had no idea how many beautiful, historic buildings we still have in this town! From commercial gothic to art deco - it was surprising and interesting. The guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was just the right amount of time.

I did learn some of Atlanta's history, but for half the tour I was uncomfortable, concerned about my safety. The tour description mentioned touring the inside and outside of Atlanta's landmark structures, but I found myself next to an underground parking lot with a horrible stench and half the time walking through the "underground" and surrounding area full of homeless... On vacation from Scotland we took two tours while in the city and very much enjoyed both. On the Downtown tour Paul had a background in social history and could bring and then integrate his knowledge of the areas and buildings from different periods of history which made sense of the environment, task which would be impossible otherwise. His 90... More
