This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

The permanent collection is a solid survey of western art. The modern art is strong. The rotating exhibits are first rate. The space is big and beautiful. The staff is friendly. 2-4 hours could be easily and happily spent here.

We arrived at 4:30 for a quick walk-through of the Museum that was closing at 5pm that day. One staff member directed us to the ticket office, but the sales agent refused to sell us tickets arguing it was too late. I visited many museums...More

THere are 4 floors of all sorts of art - sculptures (the marble pieces are amazing), furniture, paintings, dishes, modern and antique. The variety made it wonderful to continue from floor to floor.

Great museum with fascinating, well organized exhibits. Nice, cheap, healthy lunch at museum coffee shop. Bought all my Christmas gifts for the grandchildren from their artsy grandma!!

Sorry no..... basic sandwich shop or limited caffeteria choice. Go to DaVincis a short walk away. Inexpensive and good.

As the other reviewer mentioned, there is a cafe within the HIgh, but there are also numerous restaurants in walking distance along Peachtree Road.
