Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is some of the coolest street art I’ve seen. Don’t just go in the tunnel walk the streets around it too. The art is everywhere. I felt totally safe. There were kids in there making a music video and other people taking professional photos. I love this kind of stuff.

This is a tunnel of murals. If you like murals, it's cool. Anyone can paint here, so you can expect to see an eclectic collection of art and messages, as well as people painting over the murals of others. Some murals were painted by budding artists and are stunningly beautiful, poignant, dark, or even slightly disturbing. Most were rudimentary, but fun. There were many symbols with poems or messages promoting love and tolerance between cultures, as well as some hate messages toward certain groups or President Trump. Other than the occasional F word, I wouldn't say the murals were inappropriate for children. The majority of the messages were positive, and I didn't see any sexually explicit art.

The tunnel is about 10 car lengths long and the walls on both sides are covered in spray paint. Some people drive through, but the best way to view them is to park at either side of the tunnel (wherever you can find parking) and walk through. There are wide concrete sidewalks with railings on both sides of the tunnel. We found free parking on the street by the wall murals outside the tunnel. These murals were the more grand and artistic, and definitely worth viewing. They lined the tall concrete walls on both sides of the south tunnel entrance.

A word of warning: the tunnel gets a bit dark in the middle and smells of urine. The overhead lights along the tunnel help light the murals, but not the rest of the tunnel, and in the absence of car headlights, and far away from the light at the ends of the tunnel, it was pretty dark. We walked through during the day and did not see anyone but other tourists, so I did not feel unsafe, but I would recommend keeping your kids fairly close to you, and I wouldn't go there at night.

The Krog Street tunnel is only 3 miles away from downtown Atlanta, so it's a convenient little side trip. It's nestled amidst a mostly residential area, and we did not see any places to eat, or anything else to do in the immediate vicinity. However, about a 10 minute walk north, near Krog Street Market, there are a couple restaurants, and about a 15 minute walk east is Atlanta's first planned suburb, the Inman Park area - now a lush, landscaped brunch and cafe dining area surrounded by Victorian homes. Other than that, there's really not much here to add to your walk, unless you fancy a long walk along the Eastside BeltLine Trail.

Hope that helps! Enjoy Atlanta!

We were looking for someplace to take photos in Atlanta. The tunnel smelled of urine and had a lot of debri in it. I would recommend the surrounding streets though. We caught a graffiti artist painting and she was kind enough to let me take a photo of her art. My photos on the walls surrounding the tunnel were especially nice. I wouldn't suggest that you make a special trip but if you are in the area, do check it ou.

About a half mile slightly up hill away from Krog Street Market is the Krog Street Tunnel. This is a constantly changing canvas of local art. Just step into the tunnel and you can smell the spray paint. When we were there, there were 4 artists working on their pieces. My only complaint was that some of the previous artists left behind their cans. The ones we saw working had bags with them so it was obvious they intended on taking theirs with them.

The BeltLine is only a block away so make sure to take a walk over there and enjoy it and maybe even grab a popsicle from the King of Pops.

If you've never been through the Krog Street Tunnel, you need to head down there and take a walk through. We saw it while on a bicycle tour with Bicycle Tours of Atlanta, but you can definitely head down there and see it yourself for free. The graffiti is always changing and it's a completely safe place to go visit and enjoy. Very cool areas near by with street art. Definitely worth the visit.

Oh my gosh, I love this place! It’s like no other, not even in NYC. Atlanta allows artists to come & spray paint their art on the walls , sidewalks & pillars. Everything’s covered & constantly changing. Some are beautiful, some are like cartoons, some are quotes & a few have ugly words. Go down & walk both sides of the tunnel to get the full effect. This is also where Cabbagetown begins.

Might as well do it in the car, very short tunnel, but interesting graffiti. Easy to drive to one end and hit a u turn to see the other side. One tribute to Alton Sterling, that looks like someone painted over, cause his lips are blue, and it looks like he has very long nose hairs. Unless it was meant to be that way, who knows? Some of the graffiti people with young kids might not want their kids to read.

A "must do" for living in Atlanta area. Walk through and around the tunnel to check out some amazing art! You may even be lucky like us and get to see a talented street artist at work. Bring your own spray paint and get creative! Even if you don't consider yourself an artist - you can do it! Have fun and be adventurous! Oh, and it's perfectly legal to tag this tunnel!

First timer . We loved it . Especially for photography and videography. Perfect location. Thankfully we came on a week day and we were able to park just close to the tunnel . Free parking outside the row houses in that street. Very comfortable driving..

It’s so colorful. When we took some videos , it looked awesome .. very creative paintings. Loved it .must visit if u drive to Atlanta downtown :) thumbs up..

I tend to like taking pictures by graffiti because it always looks nice. However, the graffiti in the tunnel wasn't the greatest. The better graffiti was close by or outside of the tunnel, except for one entrance which was too political for my taste. I was going to Krog Street Market, so I figured I can kill two birds with one stone by walking through the tunnel to the Market. I don't regret checking out the locations because if I hadn't I wouldn't have known it wasn't worth the trip. I think if you live in Atlanta you should definitely check it out, so you can see it for yourself, but if you are coming from out of town, do not go out of your way to make a special trip.
