This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

If for no other reason you go to see the Pandas. There are tons of animals though, my favorite are the Gorillas and the Reptile House. I love the Atlanta Zoo.

I loved getting to go to Zoo Atlanta with my dad for Father's Day! There are plenty of animals and attractions. The only thing that somewhat bothered me was that the Great Pandas seemed incredibly uncomfortable in their habitat.

I am hard on zoos. I love zoos and have high expectations for them. This is a nice zoo and I would recommend it. Packed full of fun things to see. I rate hard on zoos, because I have been to so many. It is average for that reason.

Even though it was a weekday, there was a good amount of people, mainly field trips--but we were still able to see a lot. The animals seemed fat and well-tended to, if not a little bored (one of the lions was playing with an empty water bin); they should have more entertainment for the animals, so as to keep them... Atlanta zoo though not very big is a good place to visit. They have a petting area, kids can feed birds and giraffes. The newly added snakes and reptiles enclosure is awesome too. Kids love the train which runs through the park and costs $2.50 per ride.

I came to the zoo with some members of my family on a cold morning. Many of the animals hadn't come out for the day. However, the zoo was very clean and it was stroller friendly as I saw multiple mothers and nanny's pushing kids and pointing out animals. It's big enough to spend a couple hours perusing but it... I grew up volunteering at a zoo (SCZ Wichita, KS) for years and am fairly critical of zoos. I LOVED the Atlanta zoo! It is on the small side and can be completed in about 3-ish hours, but it is a very nice zoo! The layout of the zoo is fantastic, you can see pretty much every exhibit in a... More

I am sure the animals are well cared for, but the enclosures are very small for some of the animals, and I just felt bad for them. The Zoo is overpriced, with bad parking, not easy to get to, and very crowded the day we went. Comparing it to other small regional zoos, Atlanta seems to have the smallest enclosures,... More

We went to the zoo on a beautiful cool and sunny afternoon and the animals were loving the weather. My husband got some great pictures of all of the animals and we really enjoyed seeing them.
