Overview

This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

We had a great time on a Friday in perfect 70 degree weather. The zoo is clean & the exhibits are very animal friendly. The male panda was out and playing. We visit lots of zoos & this one is very good.More

Granted I'm from NY so it's hard to beat the Bronx Zoo. It was really not worth the trip unless you want to see the Pandas. That said kids under 8 might enjoy itMore

Because your feedback is quite different from what we normally receive we want to make sure you were able to enjoy all that Zoo Atlanta has to offer. Although we are compact, with over 1,000 animals representing more than 200 species we should have something...More

Not a large zoo like San Diego’s- but nice layout and the zoo keepers are very engaged with zoo guests. Loved the feeding of the giraffes for $3 ! Ingenious way to raise zoo funds as the giraffes need to be fed anyway! Reptile house...More

Have been to a lot of zoos, and this was just ok for me. Only highlight was the panda. There were a lot of kids during our visit (on a field trip) so it was really chaotic. Animals were hiding somewhere. Not really a lot...More

Thank you for your feedback. Now that school is back we will be having more and more field trips. Most of these groups leave the Zoo between 12:00 and 1:00 so it is sometimes better to visit a bit later in the afternoon on weekdays....More

We went to see the pandas as our local zoo does not have them. They were doing an event Boo at the Zoo, which was wrapping up when we arrived. It was geared towards younger children which was okay, The problem was so many of...More

Thank you for leaving a review for Zoo Atlanta. We are sorry you were not able to see all our animal population. During cold days, many choose to stay in their indoor areas instead of venturing to their outdoor habitats. As a rule of thumb,...More

We go here once a year and our favorite stops are always the gorillas, orangutans and pandas. The gorilla and orangutan enclosures are large open spaces with lots of room to roam and there always seem to be babies, which are fun to watch. The...More

I would park off the Cherokee Avenue side of the park..if you go on Boulevard ave, you will have a LONG walk. Not sure on the pricing. I would suggest to check with you local library as they sometimes have free tickets!

They are at different times. Today the gorillas are at 1:45. However, on Sept. 4, they're at 2:15 with the orangutans at 2:30. Check the Zoo Atlanta website for the complete schedule on the date you're going.
