It is a must if you like human history. Small groups go into the actual cave (not a replica) a couple of times in the morning and then again in the afternoon. We were there about 30 minutes early for the 1pm tour, which was the last one of the morning shift and it was fine. I guess that in... More

This is a must see if you are in the area. The climb up the mountain is steep, and it's slippery and demanding inside, but it is all worth it. The guide is a gentleman, helped my wife throughout the tour. paintings are amazing

Pileta is located in the spectacular Grazalema mountains. Easily reached from Ronda, the cave is absolutely worth visiting. From the parking to the cave, take into account you need to climb a substantial number of steps. In the cave itself, the path and steps are well set out, but can be steep and very slippery. Wear good hiking shoes when... More

We were in a group of just six people. Knowledgeable and friendly guide showed us a lot of the original cave artwork (apparently there are thousands, we saw a fraction, and we saw a lot!). He gave us all a lantern to carry and paid special attention to one group member who was concerned about feeling claustrophobic, helping them through... More

We visited the cave at the end of December and enjoyed it even more than our visit to Ronda itself. We spent almost 90 min in walking through the cave and back out again. It is marvellous in its size, and it is amazing just to be inside of it - the cave paintings are the icing on the cake.... More

The Pileta cave is a little bit out of the way but worthy of a visit. Both for the paintings / drawings and the marvelous geological concretions. The guided tour is very instructive (and occasionally humorous! ) and is offered in Spanish and in English. Note that tickets cannot be reserved over the phone and that, once on site, they... More

Don't miss the opportunity to see these fascinating original cave paintings. The tours are led by excellent and informative guides in multiple languages. Groups are small and lighting is by hand lanterns. There are some slippery locations and good footwear is a must. Accessing this site isn't easy without a car. I travelled by taxi from Ronda, arriving at 9:30... More

The caves are a fascinating insight into a past time. Waiting for the guide to arrive was a bit of a trial as ours was the first tour of the day and it was already hot when he arrived later than expected, The great thing about these caves though is that they have not been commercialised and so retain their... Don't miss this place (Ok I'm a caver of 40 years experience) but the show cave tour is unique in my experience as the cave is not lit and lighting is by hand held lamps. Technically very interesting Palaeolithic/Neolithic paintings not all of which are on the current tour.

Thank Trevor H
