Dear Visitors to Bran Castle,On June 1, 2009, we celebrated the return of the heirs of Princess Ileana with Bran Castle’s rebirth as the first private museum and premiere tourist destination of Romania.June 1st Is the International Day of Children and Bran Castle’s day of revival.Fittingly, we have chosen to celebrate the day with special events for children, so that we may all remain fresh and young at heart.During the past year we have completed refurbishing the Castle, recapturing the spirit of Queen Marie’s favorite retreat and the loved home of her descendents. We have installed easy to read informational plaques and a media room for our visitors. We are currently restoring the park, as well as renovating all the facilities. We are also preparing additional cultural events and entertainment for our visitors.Following the Castle’s change of ownership, director Narcis Ion remained with the Ministry of Culture, but has continued to be our valued advisor. We have welcomed a new group of managing directors: Lia Doru Trandafir, Corin Trandafir, and Alexandru Priscu. We are happy to receive every guest that comes to visit us.Welcome to our castle, our home.Sincerely,Dominic HabsburgMaria-Magdalena HolzhausenElisabeth Sandhofer

Better known as the Dracula Castel, this place is also one of the several homes of the Romanian monarchy back in the days. One can learn a lot about the rich history of that country. The castel owns a very particular architecture and the audio guide are usefull to appreciate the visit. We liked a lot that experience!

very interesting place if you know about dracula. But please note there is nothing related to dracula in this castle.. rather you have to know about the Vlad to enjoy the castle visit.. much recommended for history lovers ... audio guide is available in ticket office..

This one of the highlights of our trip to Romania. I would recommend reading about it's history before visiting, you'll get a better understanding of the castle. Even though this wasn't really the castle of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), it's definitely worth seeing

Interesting place but unless you're really into the book or the royal family there is less to see and learn here than you'd expect. Vllad (aka Dracula) only stayed here 2 nights so if that's your sole interest I would make too big a trip to see it else I'll fear you'll be disappointed. As a castle with a lot... More

Interesting story of course but Bram Stoker was born in Dublin and never set foot in the place so whole experience is a little manufactured but don't let that put you off. Castle was cold and austere but worth a visit. Not a patch on Pele's castle and grounds nearby though. Still seeing Bran's, Pele's Castles and town of Brasov... More

The story of the Bran Castle really gives it a good light, filled with mystery and history. The Castle is relatively poor in furniture, but the overall feeling is great.

I recommend visiting the Bran Castle, the view of the castle is beautiful. You can see old furniture pieces and their original layout, the view of Bran village, the garden, torture room, etc.

The castle stands proud on the hillside as you approach, much how is expected. Its a very busy place and has a long steep slope on foot and plenty of windy stairs once in the castle. Nice to see although not as 'special' as first imagined
