I was surprised at how large the museum is, and how worth a visit. There are volunteers there (I think) who are happy to offer tours. The outside area with the large statue and the flame are quite lovely, and the views are stunning. Very much worth a visit.

Truly awe inspiring. Even in the city there is such a sense calm, respect and reverence for those, that this memorial is dedicated to.

Much more than we expected. If you are into military items, they have a fantastic collection of uniforms and weapons from all eras. Definitely worth the stop.

I was driving down the road toward another tourist attraction and saw this out of the corner of my eye. There was no traffic so I swerved across a few lanes of traffic and decided to visit. What a neat place. The memorial is very well done and the museum is informative!

This was a touching memorial. The main statue was a lovely woman wit an eternal flame at her feet. There was a wall of glass with the names of all Virginians who gave their life in the world war. On the marble wall the names of soldiers from other wars. The site overlooks the city and river.

Have lived in Richmond for over 50 years and never been to the War Memorial. It is a place where you can review history and if you have relatives that participated in some of our nations conflicts maybe even see the part they played.

We did a very quick tour of this museum on our last day in Richmond. It was beautifully done. A nice tribute to those who gave their lives.

The story of men and women that fought for our country and their story's. This place has so much to see. The volunteers served our country and have great stories to tell. One of them is 96 years old and still volunteer on Wednesdays. I wish I could have heard his story. The veterans that were here can tell you... More

Loved it!! The staff are very friendly and explain everything to you! So much to learn and see here! Definitely a place to take your older kids to as they can appreciate the learning experience versus taking younger children who might not retain the info. Awesome place!
