I fly in and out of Richmond a lot, and noticed a month or so ago that the display of the plane Blackbird was no longer out front. Having never gone inside the museum itself, I allowed extra time ever and paid my admission to see a great display. I learned Blackbird is being redeployed to the Richmond Science Museum,... More

Great display of important historic aircraft from per WWII to the present. Not a huge museum, but worth a visit - especially when flying in or out of RIC. Gift shop is great.

Had some time to kill before a meeting and noted the Museum across the street. Was easy to get to and cost for a senior was $5.50. I milled around for a coupe of hours looking over many aircraft. They start you off with a guide to tell you about what is in the museum and then you are on... More

We had a few hours to kill before our flight and on chance stopped in. We were glad we did. They have a unique collection of aircraft on display and the WWII diorama display is very well done. If your in Richmond I recommend taking the time to visit this wonderful little museum. You will be glad you did.

This is a small museum, but it's packed full of interesting stuff. I only spent about an hour or so looking around, but I can see a family with kids or an airplane enthusiast spending a lot more time here. The admission is cheap and the people are very friendly. And the SR71 Blackbird out front is the coolest plane... More

I appreciate museums which take genuine effort in bringing interesting exhibits for their visitors, and the VAM does precisely that despite it's small size. Even if you have merely a passing interest in aviation, you owe it to yourself to visit this well-stocked little museum. If you are a war history buff, veteran or a native to Virginia, visiting this... More

My grandson was delighted with the MANY interactive experiences (which were teaching him kits in spite of himself!) So many wonderful WWII dioramas as well as the many REAL planes overhead!

Stopped here on my way down to VA Beach and was happy to see the SR71 and F14 outside. Not very big inside, but the facility and displays were well kept. If you're not an aviation enthusiast, you might not find it all that great but for me it was well worth stopping to see the SR71. Not sure how... More
